Pickens would be great! However I don’t think there’s much of a chance there. Could you imagine the Aubie melt that would follow if we could get the flip

Not trying to be combative, but this has been debunked by every credible source connected to Daniel. Even the UGA mods say that Kirby was caught off guard and will continue to recruit him. He was a take a month ago and he’ll be a take in December

He was definitely asked to delay his announcement around the reveal. Was a silent commit for a while.
South Carolina staff was not expecting his commitment this week.
We will never know exactly what went down, but it's clearly a different situation than something like losing Pappoe to Auburn or even losing Zacch Pickens to South Carolina.
End of the day, it doesn't really matter. We will sign 4 really good high school DBs and end up with the number 2 class with an outside shot at 1 if Bama somehow misses on multiple targets.

Yup, agree. We would’ve taken Daniel, but not Smith. We will still go after Daniel til the end though.

That doesn’t mean he couldn’t have been a silent commit. He could have just been told to wait before going public.

I should point out to everyone reading this, that these are rumblings...not from insiders and not from the newsletter, so there is more chance they are wrong, than right.
On the other hand, I would also be surprised if we are not working on Both Pickens', Pappoe, Daniel and any other major target out there.

Am I missing something regarding the QB recruiting? I know we have Plumlee committed for the 19 class, but there’s been little talk on here about him or ANY qb, for that matter. If we should lose Fromm or Fields due to injury or transfer, is Plumlee all that’s left waiting in the wings or are we going to go after another all worlder like our last three recruits at this position?

We’ve been recruiting a lot of QBs but they typically commit early in the process. No “all-world” QB is going to consider UGA right now. Fromm will get the bulk of the snaps, Fields will get a smaller share, and then Fields will also get mop-up duty. There’s no room for anyone else to even really see the field for the next 3 years. No 5-Star kid with professional prospects will want to sign up for that.

Plumlee is the guy for this year. We are in it for several of the big name 5 star kids for 2020.

This class is pretty light on elite QBs as well. 2020 is pretty strong so far so I'd imagine that's where the resources are allocated.
