He is right now. if/when we get his commitment it will be somebody else.

If anyone has any more weeping/gnashing of teeth regarding our recruiting, I would recommend getting it all out now...

No, I think even when the dust has settled he will go down as the most important guy we land this cycle. Smith would be second based on sheer talent and impact he should have on games but Walker fills a need in a way that we haven’t had since Trent Thompson signed

I do, too. I was trying to be funny.

I have a prediction that we flip a DT from another team,(or take a kid thought to be going to another team) though, so I think our DLine recruiting will soon be considered a strength. Just a hunch.

Can someone fill me in on whats going on with Makiya Tongue, I was under the impression that he was a heavy UGA lean...

He’s 17 and recently visited Texas. Welcome to recruiting Louisiana.

Wouldn't be shocked if we were slow playing a little here. Third WR was always a luxury for this class. The addition of DRob tells me we will only take a third if they are elite. Not sure Tongue fits that role.
Just get the sense that he is ours if we push hard.

With Walker announcing on tuesday its good for yall...we needed to get him on campus again for a last push...id give us a 3% shot on this one all due to family connection...frick congrats

I'm not trying to be a dick because I think you're a solid poster, but this time last we you thought Walker was going to USC. What's changed in your opinion?

He finally realized the usc analysts were full of shite.

They do seem to be as bad as the AU "analysts" but he seemed to have some inside info. I was just wondering what had changed.

Can tell you that nothing changed on the Georgia end. Same info that was good on McClendon...

According to the 247 calculator, Walker would bump us up to #3.
And it'd bump our avg rating from 94.10 to 94.44
Between that and being the first big-ticket interior DL get since Thompson, this is a huge one if it holds.

I was told we had him essentially flipped just needed to get on campus 1 more time...his family connection to SC was very strong just not enough...guys i know who coach in GA have told me kirby and co turned up the heat and he is back in the dawg camp.
And i dont get my info from "insiders" i use their info to gauge staff feelings on prospects but when it comes to the kids i use contacts. GA, SC, and NC are where my contacts are.

In defense of mikeboss, this same situation happened with Americus on here when Pappoe committed to Auburn. Americus kept posting pro-UGA stuff right up until the morning of the commitment, which is when he got word that the pick was AU.
Sometimes there might not be a right answer until the very last minute. I know I always underestimate how fluid these recruiting situations are - probably because I have exactly 0 connections

Thanjs ATL...i try to be unbiased when posting on other teams boards but sometimes it comes out...i do know scott knew this was a must get to keep his job and he went balls to the wall when walker started "felling the love" from SC

We at UGA have DT recruiting PTSD...Aubrey Soloman..Derrick Brown...we are just squeamish when it comes to big time Dline recruits signing with UGA for whatever reason.
We actually need this kid bad. We need some solid D line depth if we are going to contend for titles in the future. This kid will play and play a lot at UGA, but hopefully will be a part of bringing home a Natty..and I think that ultimately swayed him back to UGA...there is an instate pull to stay home that is alive and well and Kirby is absolutely a master at playing that card.

Always appreciate folks bringing info from other camps.
This one was a little different than Pappoe or DBrown in that Walker was never silently committed to USCe.

Id argue any school could sayvthe same for player of his caliber...but damn good get and to keep him home. Especially with Lance Thompson, TRob and Boom breathingvdown yalls neck.
