Kirby's shown repeatedly that the best players play. If you've got the stuff, you're going to get the chance to bring it.

Agreed and why it is so curious that Pappoe would shy away from UGA over competition. If OP is truly as good as he is rated, then he should be able to rise up.

The best do. They either get to campus with superior talent and uproot established starters or they learn their position, hone their craft and get better in time to become a leader.

Dominick Blaylock telling DN that he's shutting down his recruitment. No visits anywhere but Athens.

Which means he will inevitably drop in recruiting rankings because you can't tease with click bait and ratings by having a guy commit that early and stay that way.

Which is just wrong! That kid has worked hard for that rating, and you drop him because he wants to be loyal and shut down his recruitment

It won't make a bit of a difference. If a kid comes to Georgia and is not rated, I could care less if he plays well. Once he is signed nobody cares what his rating ends up. What matters at that point is what he does on the field.

Don't get too caught up on ratings.

I agree, I just think its wrong for the kid. Blaylock has worked hard for that rating, just to be dropped so websites can make some money.

So refreshing compared to Nolan Smith

Nolan Smith is recruiting heavily for us. He's a high school kid. If he wants to take visits, that's absolutely fine.

Committed Dawgs mingling, and influencing, other recruits who might be interested is a good thing even if it happens away from Athens. If I was a top recruit I would travel just for the experience.

Once he gets the scholarship he wants why would he care? I guess ego, but nobody is going to remember or care what your rating was. I know Trent Thompson was one of the top recruits, but I don't know what his rating was. Seems he dropped out of the top spot toward the end.

This was not meant to lecture you. Just pointing out that a rating doesn't matter once a kid gets the scholarship.

I don't care if a kid takes his visits. I know I would.
Go see some places and get treated like royalty. They only have that opportunity once. But that's just me.

From what I have been hearing, Nolan Smith has been recruiting for us hard. I get less and less concerned with Nolan Smith as time goes on.

Commits have long visited other teams, but their updates never seemed as unreassuring as Nolan Smith updates. Also, that April fools stunt was absurd.

If you want assurance on Nolan Smith's commitment to UGA then just ask his fellow recruits. He knows how to play games, and that's exactly what he's doing. Kirby and staff know how solid he is, and that's all that matter

To be fair, the recruiting sites are more geared to bringing in revenue than to be accurate with their rankings. The Bama bump is real and this is what capitalism is about so embrace the clickbait rankings until they are finalized.

I saw that and wondered if we were on him. Good stuff.
