Rivals and ESPN have Travon Walker listed as a 6'5, SDE. 247 have him listed as the #3 DT. What are we recruiting him as? Dawgs lead heavily for both Walker and Humphries from what I'm reading. Getting both of them would be like a cold, tall glass of water on a hot summer day.

From what I understand, we are recruiting him as a hybrid. A DE that can slide down into a DT spot. He could play both depending on what formation we are in.

Yes, we're recruiting him primarily as a 3-tech who can slide out to a 5-tech. He will have to grow into that role, but nothing a year in a college S&C program won't fix.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems we have 2-3 recruits we are looking at that can do this. Seems like this is something our coaches value.

Probably going to take one. John Emery is my favorite target, but he comes out of Louisiana and they are always tough to pull. I think we have a pretty decent shot, though. Emery has a great combination of size, power, vision. He looks great.

I know our attitude is to just nuke every position regardless of how stacked we are, but do we really need a running back this year?

Look at the breakdown on the roster this year:

Juniors - 2 (Holyfield, Herrien)
Sophomores - 1 (Swift)
Freshmen - 2 (White, Cook)

Idk what Prather is.

Our entire backfield will (likely) be back in 19.

If we can get an elite back, take em, but skipping a year wouldn’t be the worst thing ever.

If they are scared of competition, then we don't want them anyway

Chicken gets weird about competing sites taking away clicks. It's where Dawg insiders would likely go if they were interested in Dawg recruiting, but they weren't super keen on their websites having complicated names.
