That is my whole point. We have above average DL with some of them being good. We don’t have any dominators.

Watch this, LINK

This is a same side counter play with the H-back wrapping. Good job by Bama but our nose doesn’t play worth a shite. Our End does a shitty job of driving the trap block back to the center and there is a huge fricking whole to run through. This happened over and over nd over and it’s more about personnel than it is great scheme on Bama’s part.

Make no mistake, our LB’s played like shite on this play. But if the nose doesn’t get his arse whipped on this play Tae is running free and there is a smaller hole to run through.

Tyler Clark is good but he by no means close to dominate and Jordan Davis as a Jr or Sr may help us beat Bama but not as a Freshman.

DL is the most important position on our defense and they have to improve to beat Bama!

Also, DL was not our weakest position group this year. Not at all. Davis and Wyatt had outstanding years for first year guys.

I was shocked by Davis. Once he dropped the weight the coaches requested him to drop he was an animal. He played like a veteran.
I'm with you on this. We have some players there, and with the commits we have for next year, I am excited about the DLine.
A dominant DT that can penetrate the line and make tackles in the backfield is great, but the primary job of the DT is to soak up double teams to let the LB's make big stops and punish RB's.

I get the point and we do need to improve there to have the kind of dominant D like they have most years. But if we put that drive in the EZ after Nauta's catch, we're in the CFP and Bama may be left out and we're not talking about this right now.

The third down play on that drive, the receiver was open, but Jake and he weren't on the same page and cost us a first down. We make that and we likely finish it off. MO just took a huge turn after the missed FG there.

That was Michael Barnett and Devonte Wyatt getting abused on the DL on that play.

We had a 7 in the box against 12 personnel. Trying to stop the pass against a run formation.

I agree that the talent on the defense needs to improve. But we often play a bend don't break against teams with a vertical threat. And that is what you are going to see. A hat on a hat at the first 2 levels and the safety needs to clean up the play. Our LBs can try to jump that play, but it is where we would be vulnerable to the RPO. You could see the defense trying to stay disciplined but allowing the blocking to hit home in the process.

I disagree. That play was more about design than the Joe's.

Quinnen Williams was probably the best defensive player in the nation this year, and was only a 4*, and not even ranked in the top 100, and redshirted his first year.

You trust your scouting. Just because we aren’t getting 15 5* at one position, doesn’t mean you aren’t recruiting well.

Rusty said Dean is trending to Bama so that will be a blow. The good news is we still have Tindall, Walker, Trez and Rian Davis. Bad news is the 2020 ILB class is weak. Sergio Allen, Peach County GA, would probably be the top choice but he’s committed to Clemson. It’s virtually impossible to flip CU commits with Dabo’s sctrict rules.

That's not true FWIW.

Two of the top 10 players in the 2020 class are inside linebackers: Justin Flowe and Antoine Sampah. They just happen to be in California and Virginia.

I just dont believe Dean is trending as hard toward Alabama as some people think. Rusty said he is trending slightly to Bama....but two other sources I've seen say absolutely not.....that Alabama is in 3rd place.

Now....let's take a look at the Crystal Ball Picks on 247......where is Alabama at in those picks? 3rd.

Steve Wiltfong is over 90% accurate with his picks and he has stuck with UGA.....and all of the UGA insiders have stuck with their pick for UGA. UGA leads by a good portion. Not saying it isn't wrong, but if he was leaning so heavy toward Bama and most likely going to be there, you would see a shift in CBs.

Gonna be the Tindell and Walker show for the next two years anyway. Marshall adds good depth and we will probably see Otis move up also. shite I almost forgot about Rice, we will be fine at ILB.

IMO Dean, at least for me, is a major need at ILB. Kid is a stud.

Georgia may land Dean, but I wouldn't use CBs as an indication of where he may end up.

Not one analyst had predicted Patrick Surtain to Alabama until the morning of NSD. His CBs were 100% to LSU up until the last day of the recruiting cycle.

The info on Dean is all over the place. I guess it’s par for the course for a Mississippi prospect...

We will find out who has good sources and who has shite over the course of the next week...

While this is true, it still doesn't tell me why those 2 sources that I trust are telling me Bama is in 3rd. Why would Tim Watts info be any more credible than any other teams sources?

I really believe that Rusty has been talking to Tim and that's why he said what he did about Dean leaning Bama. They talk a whole bunch.

AND just a moment ago Chad Simmons and Woody Womack put out a forecast for 5 players.....one of them was Dean, and he predicted UGA picks him up. He also said UGA for Haselwood. He said based on the information he currently has, that Dean picks UGA. That was 3 hours ago.

Oh and just this morning on Rivals a guy with 94.7% accuracy rate and an insider for Ole Miss changed his pick from Alabama to UGA.

Bud Elliott has had Nakobe Dean CB'd to Alabama since 2017 and he predicted him to sign with Alabama in an article written yesterday and another one this morning.
