Exactly. RB class is loaded next year, so expect us to land two elite guys.

Even if we don't

Zues and Cook will still be super young even if Swift goes to the NFL early which I fully expect after he puts up a monster year next year.

Agreed.

Many of our fans have moved straight through the new standard of Georgia recruiting into a mindset that if we don't land the top 3 players at every position in every cycle, we won't win a game. Haha

Our RB room looks great going forward. With Emery it would have looked insane. With McIntosh it still looks pretty damn good.

This is just a friendly reminder that we are now less than 100 posts away from 3,000.

Stay aware.

I’m guessing McIntosh means we aren’t getting Emery?

McIntosh sounds like a good compliment to Zeus and Cook.

Although 5 stars are great, it is good to get a variety of diffeewnt backs. The 2020 cycle will be huge with no Swift/Holyfield/Herrien.

Emery Committing to LSU means we aren't getting Emery.

We just lost a 5 star RB and the best one in this class....why the frick would we not be bitter?

You should probably settle down. Remember, Keith Marshall was ranked well ahead of Todd Gurley coming out of high school (at least a few spots). Never know how they will do when they hit the big time.

If hes too slow then we can just use him as our goal line specialist at minimum

Compare the highlight tapes and I think you’ll be less disappointed. First he plays like he runs a 4.55-4.6 not 4.9. Second he’s 6’1” 215 with room for more muscle. He runs physical. Not saying Emery won’t be special but this kids numbers don’t do him justice.

Sony was well ahead of Chubb.

Our running back Depth Chart will have

White
Swift
Holyfield
Cook

next year, landing a 5 star into that was going to be tough. This add is a perfect depth guy and could eventually earn carries down the road. It's one of our better positions on the team.

I think Herrien is a junior too, and will be back. While Herrien is not a feature back, he has given us depth and gets carries. People forget he was a fairly low rated 3* (.8489) RB when we signed him. he has done very well, imo.

Of course losing Emery hurts, but McIntosh is a damn fine consolation prize, especially considering that, as many here have pointed out, this was a year at RB that we're really just looking for depth and insurance.

We're stacked at RB next year. 2020 will be the year we need to find some new commodities assuming Swift leaves (spoiler alert: he will).

McIntosh gives us some extra breathing room as we chase some big dogs next cycle.

Correct. People should also note that college running backs typically peak early, and the top performers are often young players.

In other words, as long as we take care of business in the next cycle, we should enter 2020 with a stable of young studs to compliment a third year Zamir White and veteran, elite OL.

There are some things to fret about with UGA football, but running back isn't one.

Also of note. We don’t have a running back on campus besides walk ons and white chocolate that are as bad as Carlton Thomas or Caleb king or jj green. . The worst one who actually play, Herrien, would run circles around them.

This is also true. It's hard to overstate:

A. How poorly the roster was managed under previous regime.

B. How well the roster is managed now.

Plenty of on field things to worry about, but the flow of talent is lights out.

Can't say enough about that. Kirby was complaining about how beat up he offensive line is, and he's right, but even with it being so banged up, its road grading good defenses for 300+ rushing yards a night.

Our second string line is better than most SEC teams' starters. That's recruiting and roster management.

Caleb King was a good back with a 10 cent head. He did everything well but the toss sweep (thankfully, Ealy only did the toss sweep well. Another 10 cent head unfortunately).
