If Elam, Stevenson and Cross want to come, we will take 5 DBs

Based on the way Campbell and LeCounte seem to have not grown at all, I’ll take all the DBs we can get

LeCounte is 1 tackle behind Monty Rice for the lead on defense this year (he's got 9 more solo tackles than Rice). He might be a tad inconsistent but I thought he was doing pretty well overall.

I’ve been critical of both but Lecounte is the teams leading tackler. It’s noteworthy that Otis Reese started against Auburn. Kirby was sending Lecounte a message.

I think Campbell has superior coverage skills but the damn guy can’t find a football. Stokes is a damn good cover corner, I just think he’ll have a tough time against the run. I’m excited about Divaad Wilson. The 247 guys said he was getting #1 reps at star before his knee injury. I expect to see him in the next few weeks.

I didn’t say LeCounte was a bad player but he hasn’t progressed since the start of the year. He came into the season a solid of untested player but he still is prone to bad angles and blown assignments when you’d think he’d have learned by now.

Only way I see him improving is to bring guys in to push him toward improvement. Kirby did the right thing starting Reese Saturday for that very reason.

We’re on the same page. I think Lecounte better improve or Reese will take his job. I’m with you and Porter, Kirby will take 5 DB’s if the board sets up that way.

I also think we’ll see guys like Bishop and maybe (pure speculation) Gibbs transfer, so we need to re-stock the secondary.

I've heard rumblings of 1-2 DB departures but would have figured Bishop/Brini... Gibbs could also make sense though.

I would hate to see veteran players replaced by true freshman. I think it hurts the concept of reloading. Then again we are loaded with freshmen and true sophomores. Good problem to have.

He has done just fine. Kid ain’t scared. He hit the guy first on the goal line.

Can’t believe people are hating on Campbell. Dude is usually draped all over receivers he just needs to learn how not to get called and get that head around. It’s like we don’t even remember what a bad corner looks like and that ain’t it. Brendan Langley started as a true freshman and got ran off the field because he was getting torched. Campbell isn’t getting lit up. He’s holding his own in the SEC.

I still don’t think the last 2 pass interference calls were worthy of flags. BS calls. WRs didn’t earn them.

People seem to come to very quick decisions around here. Cleveland's a bust! McKenzie can't catch! Wims was overrated! Roquan should go to UCLA, he's not a Georgia man! Gaillard is a waste! Campbell can't play CB! LeCounte can't play!

Relax and let it play out. Most of the kids you are making snap decisions on are underclassmen.

Relax.

I don't know who said Campbell and Lecounte can't play. It certainly wasn't me. My only assertion was that neither have really developed this year. Both are great athletes with excellent potential to become great DBs but neither have made the great strides I would expect them to given the amount of PT they've gotten all year.

I'm also not asserting that they'll never develop into great players, only that they do still need to develop and the only way I see that happening is if they have comparable talent pushing them in practice.

I’m not directing the comment to any one person/poster. I’m guilty of it myself. Look at how many are already taking a side on Justin Fields: he’s the Savior! He’s not ready!

We’re 9-1. We’ll be favored up to the SECCG. Regardless of what happens, next year we return virtually everyone while we continue to stockpile an embarrassing amount of talent. With a head coach that is a Georgia alum who seems to know what he’s doing,

I see zero reason for any angst whatsoever from a Georgia fan at this point. Why we would fight amongst ourselves about the talent level of underclassmen escapes me.

I plan to enjoy the heck out of the rest of the season as we watch this play out. Win or lose the SECCG, the future is brighter for Georgia football than it has ever been in my lifetime.

ill say it

lecounte is serviceable at best right now. he makes piss poor tackle attempts consistently, chooses the wrong lanes to shoot on the edge, loses contain, and hasnt had the ball hawking trait he was hyped to have.

he can get better of course, but right now he isnt a good player

also this shouldnt be in the recruiting thread but oh well.

Lecounte has made a lot of mistakes this year and also made some good plays. He’s not one of those great tackling safety’s but on a lot of those throws that aren’t happening or the ball gets thrown away likely means our guys on the backend did their job on that play. How many times have we been just torched deep this year? It feels like it never happens anymore and when it does the guy is covered well and the reciever makes a good play or they call a flag on us that is almost always a flag that could have been withheld. I feel like our 4 Dbs have played pretty damn well overall. Lecounte is aggressive and takes himself out of plays or takes shite angles sometimes but he’s explosive and fast and back there for a reason.

That would be an unbelievable haul, wouldn't it? Stevenson, Elam, Cross, Cine and Daniel?
