Seems like all that momentum from last year is gone after one loss. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

It wasn’t just the loss but the fact that Georgia has looked like a dysfunctional, disinterested mess all year getting by on out talenting teams. The LSU loss was just a blatant confirmation of all the negative recruiting that had been put out there

It's what happens when other recruits see what happens to 5 stars when they get to UGA.

Nauta? - Not getting the ball

D-Rob - Not getting the ball

James Cook - Not getting the ball

Recruits see how tight we play on offense and don't want any part of what we're doing.

Seems painfully obvious that either Chaney or Smart or both are in over their heads with this many offensive options. LSU game aside, there is no flow, identity, or rhythm to what this team has done offensively all season

I think on the players' end it comes down to little to no leadership in the locker room.

On the defensive side I think that’s almost a certainty. But offensively that shouldn’t be an issue with Fromm, Swift, Thomas, Gaillard, Godwin, Hardman, etc

I said we would lose him after we looked awful at LSU, a game he was at. I wasn't convinced we would keep him even if we had won it all.

Fields would change that but I’m not going to soil the recruiting thread with it...

My opinion: A close loss at LSU wouldn't have had much if any negative effect on UGA recruiting. However, the way we lost makes it look like we really don't have the top-notch coaching staff to be consistently elite. Even if Smart is still developing as a head coach, Chaney was a second- or third-choice hire as the Offensive Coordinator and has no business being here long-term IF we are truly aiming to build something at Alabama's level.

As to Emery himself, there was always going to be that risk with a kid who's from an hour away from Baton Rouge, if LSU began to appear on the rise. That's just the reality of it. Meanwhile, his stated "100 percent UGA" even days after the LSU-GA game to a decommit today says something about him...namely that he never was fully onboard.

The bigger thing is: Smart needs to get it back on track and show he learned something. Meanwhile, we may need an upgrade at OC if we can't do wonders with the talent we have this year.

Holyfield only got 7 carries vs LSU. Emery noticed.

Kirby can lose this program as quickly as it is being built. He HAS to play these guys. Even if it means risking a game. These guys don’t want to sit for 2-3 years.

Yep. I can't blame Emery at all after that game against LSU.

I can get behind Nauta needing more focus but Robertson and Cook are new to campus at loaded positions. I’m all about freedom of speech and expression but every post of yours makes me question it.

The LSU game was the crescendo of a downward trajectory we seem to have been on for a while. I was lambasted on here for saying that Kirby was losing credibility with recruits, and since that time we've seen two five star studs decommit.

Anything short of a complete philosophical, personnel, and performance turnaround Saturday in Jacksonville, and I would expect to see a few other names from the top of our list look elsewhere.

I love Kirby, but I've never seen something mishandled to the degree as our offense has been this year, and it falls on him. Recruits notice.

I'm hoping we see the beginning of the change this Saturday, but I am not confident, and it's almost certainly too late to get back either of the ultra elite talents that we have run off so far (Haselwood, Emery)

JFC, you are embarrassing yourself. Yes, it sucks to lose two top players and no, we haven’t played our best football. But UGA landed the top class last year and will probably land in the top 3 this year. I hate UGA fans sometimes

Dude found himself rooting for LSU, witnessed a big win for that program, and was approached by, now legendary, Coach O right after the game.

I don’t disagree that there is a lot UGA needs to straighten out but, with Emery, I wouldn’t read too much into it.
