There is some talk that there are 3-4 currently committed guys who won't end up with us because other guys will take their spot. Honestly don't know who the hell that would be, as we don't have as many obvious "weak links" in this class like we did at this time last year.

I was downvoted before but if Elam, Stevenson and Cine commit, I’d be willing to bet Perry looks around. He’s a good player but he’s a tweener. He’s visited a lot places recently so he’s obviously keeping things open.

People will point to Bertrand as an obvious candidate, but I think the only way he decommits is if he flips to Florida. I’m not sure he wants to come in as the 3rd ILB with Trez and Rian Davis, with Tindall and Quay already on campus.

There isn’t much fat to cut, so I can’t see 3-4 guys being told to look elsewhere. Maybe someone like Makiya Tongue, but you don’t want to upset anyone from LA because of Emery’s commitment.

Doubt those guys have a choice in the matter. We can upgrade at lb and db and we will.

Yeah I kind of hate speculating on this stuff but here it goes. We have a lot of LBs committed and I don't see any way we turn down Dean or OP if they want to come, (And odds are we get at least one of those) so there would have to be a hard decision or two made there potentially. At DB I would be shocked if Perry gets turned away, even if we get guys like Cine, Elam and Stevenson, but we are in a new age here. Only other area I really see where we could trim some fat is if a couple of big time DL prospects (Pickering, Pickens, Rambo Hunter, or Fuller) really want to jump on board, then anybody not named Travon or Norton might be reevaluated.

Bertrand, Goede, and Blaylock are all super tight, no? Would be weird for us to push Bertrand out and possibly rock that boat. Not to say it's impossible, but I'm sure the coaches would have to play that situation with some kid gloves... ie. find a way to make it his decision rather than ours. Hopefully it's a non-issue and the room is there as I think he's a solid player.

As far as Perry goes, I'm with you. I'd be pretty shocked. It would take a perfect storm of basically all 3 of them and just no wiggle room elsewhere. Seems like Kirby is of the mind that we need to cast a wide net at DB in order to find the studs we'll need.

On DL, I thought we'd stopped pursuing Rambo Hunter? Pickens seems pretty concrete to USC at this point. Pickering or Fuller could be options but not sure we're really in the mix there, are we?

Well Blaylock is really the only one out of that bunch that it would hurt to lose. Currently he isn't even listening to other schools. Im sure Kirby and crew will probably not let a few of our current commits sign early

We wouldn't take a commitment from Hunter at this time. Fuller also seems to be a question mark.

We would probably make tough choices if Z. Pickens, Pickering, or Hinton wanted to come on board, but there has been NOTHING to suggest any of those three are moving off their current commitments. For comparison, there were credible reasons this time last cycle to think Brenton Cox and Otis Reese were still in play. Nothing of the sort on the names above.

Not going to say it's impossible, but it isn't likely as of now. Furthermore, if you look at our commitment list, their isn't much fat to trim.

No idea, his recruitment has been so ridiculous that I've just kind of stopped following it. With FSU looking like a dumpster fire if him or Fuller officially opened things up I'd imagine we'd make a push.

He does but he told the guys at Rivals that UGA was his definite #2 when he made his decision, so if USCe's season goes south and we are back in the playoff with early PT to sell next year, I wouldn't completely count CKS out.

I'd bet we at least get a visit from Pickering, especially if MSU struggles once they really hit their SEC West schedule. As for Fuller I know he released a top 5 with us in it and no FSU, and made a comment on Twitter about wanting Tae Crowder's number at UGA. He's a bit of a troll in recruiting similar to Hunter, so you can't put too much stock into those things but you gotta imagine we'd at least have a shot.

Counterpoint would be that at this time last year nobody thought Cade Mays, Quay Walker, Nadab Joseph, or Divaad Wilson would flip to UGA. I wouldn't count out this coaching staff for anybody if we can sell another SECCG game/win and possibly another playoff appearance.

That's fair, although to be totally fair we should admit that it is unlikely that ANY program is going to completely self destruct the way that Florida and Tenn did last cycle.

FSU is pulling hard this season to outclass both UF and UT in that regard.

The only guy on their commit list we have been linked to that is a definite take is CB Akeem Dent.

That kid is almost certainly Bama bound.

Chad Simmons put in a forecast (Rivals version of CB) for Clay Webb to UGA a couple days ago fwiw. He's about as well-connected as it gets in his line of work, especially in the Southeast.

I've seen Simmons write stuff in the last couple of years that looks a little forced, for lack of a better word. I'm sure he is well connected, but some of his recruiting talent evaluations are a reach.

Is this our only "big" visit week of the year, or do we have another against Auburn, Tech, etc.?

Rian Davis tore his ACL. Looking to enroll early for rehab. He is one of the recruits I was excited about. Big time LB.
