Have you seen what Cook as said about UGA?
Yes, I have. All indications point to Georgia. And I am not saying he won't. Maybe I am just being pessimistic.

And the biggest thing with us is that none of those guys post-Chubb/Michel are proven. Cook could come in right away and play in a system that uses multiple backs very well.
Herrien did pretty well last year, however it might be a stretch to say he is proven. We will know more after this season.

The biggest issue with FSU is they might just ride Cam Akers and Cook wouldn't see serious action until his Junior Year.
It wouldn't surprise me if Cook flipped somewhere. I am just not as confident it will be to Georgia.....but as I said, I hope I am wrong. We will see. It would be great to get him.

That's why I'm glad this staff is not taking years off in QB recruiting. QB along with OL is really hard to project from one level to the next. There are so many reasons a QB can bust and lots of them have nothing to do with on field ability. You have to have lots of prospects in the pipeline each year to hedge against highly rated busts.
I for one think Eason is going to have a big year, but if he duds out, the fact that Fromm and Fields/Corral will be waiting in the wings helps us avoid a QB vacuum like we had after Aaron Murray.
Some of our worst years in the last 15 came when the "next in line" turned out to be not that great (Cox, Mason, Ramsey/Lambert)

I don't think Kirby has been shy about saying "best guy plays." If you come to practice and make the coaches believe you give the team the best chance to win, you're playing that Saturday. Period.
As it should be. You reward those with the most talent and that work hard.

This is why I am not overly excited about Ramsey returning. I know we need another QB for practice rep purposes, but the knock I heard on him from some of his teammates was that he is extremely laid back. I know Bobo left but this blah attitude was why Greyson Lambert took the QB job and then Eason's talent was just better. I want an Aaron Murray or David Greene mentality with my QBs with an Eason/Stafford arm talent. Those are hard to come by. The best thing that could have happened to Eason is Fromm (based on what I have heard about Fromm's mental makeup). Here's To hoping I am wrong about Eason's mental makeup or a 2018 QB having both the physical and mental makeup to lead us to promise land

I actually think Ramsey coming back is a good thing.
Best case scenario: Eason plays well enough to squash doubts and shows improvement in the areas we've discussed ad nauseum. Fromm is named backup, but Ramsey plays mop up duty and Fromm preserves redshirt.
Worst case scenario: Eason is injured seriously or becomes a liability as starter. Burn Fromm's redshirt and throw him to the fire with Ramsey as emergency backup.

I think he will commit to us at some point in time. I do not know if he'll finish with us, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't flip soon.
As far as Herrien goes he was good early in the season, but that's about it.

Of course it's a good thing. Only having 2 scholarship QBs on the roster is definitely a bad thing. Ramsey at least gives a chance to RS Fromm if it's best for the team. Plus if one of our QBs gets hurt we at least still have a backup.

Maybe cause Gurley was a once every decade type of talent? Marshall definitely showed five star ability pre-injury. He had 8 TD's and 759 yards on only 117 carries as a true freshman.
No, because Marshall wasn't good enough to produce against defenses of that quality, and the coaches knew it. He was good enough to break untouched long runs vs awful defenses though.

He didn't get much opportunity later in the season. Chubb and Michel got all the carries. I have no problem with that, but I think (hope) that had as much to do with his drop off as anything.

Well it's not, my UGA biased. I have seen him play a dozen times or more. I live close to the area. He looks good to great against some average talent. You look at the best teams he's played the last 2 years.
Liberty in the 3rd round against LeCounte. Not impressive, took a great defensive stop to to win
Buford State Champ- cartersville defense played out of their minds, TL high powered offense did little
Thompson State Champ- TL looked good against a young Thompson team that got caught in the lights and never recovered.
TL is a great young QB, but I'd take Feilds or Corral any day of the week.

Ken Dix, from Lambert High School, is at The Opening this week in Oregon. At the Regional event his scores were the highest in the nation. His offer list isn't the most impressive but he continues to get offers and attention from higher ranked schools.

I'll take Fields over Lawrence, but Lawrence over Corral.
Fields is probably the closest thing you'll see to Cam Newton. Kid has a damn rocket launcher for an arm but can absolutely punish you with his feet if he has to.

Its interesting to see if Lawrence to Clemson is a good fit. Dabo's best teams had a DT at QB. The years he didn't have a DT QB his teams lost 3 or more games.

I think he'll be ok.
Edit: he's pretty athletic and I am sure they'll adjust their O for him.

Watch the tape of Corral, he's not DT. But he is elusive as crap in his he pocket and scrambling. And has the best arm, clearly, of all 3

Corral has the strongest arm, I'll give you that. I think Fields is still the better passer. He was picking defenses apart yesterday in the 7-on-7.

How's it awful??
Fields throws a 55 yd rope to the end zone , can't really see the catch. Appears to be over the right shoulder. Towards the end line.
