He could transfer if he believes those two are going to get to the field before he does...but, for my money, if Cook is more of a Sony/KM type back, I'm not scared of that if I am Swift.

Also, I find it pretty amusing every time someone says I am being idiotic when it comes to RB evaluation. I've been right about every back that has come through UGA going back to Knowshon being redshirted being a mistake. All while the majority of the board was slobbering all over guys like RSIV and Caleb King. The only guy I was even sort of wrong about was Crowell, and I have admitted to being wrong about him.

Full disclosure - I have not watched Cooks highlights yet, just saying that the "lightning" end of out "thunder and lightning" RB classes seem to always be less successful. KM not in Gurleys zip code, Sony being very polished but no Chubb, Holyfield getting the pub, Herrien gets the carries.
I'll give Cook a look for myself and get back to you.

Edit: I have watched 4 videos. Ill stand by what I said.
I see make a man miss and outrun everyone. It was essentially the same as watching Holyfields video last year. I may be wrong about it when its all said and done, but if he turns out to be a Sony or KM, he will be a good pickup if he picks us. I just dont see anything there to be scared of if I am Swift.

Marshall had speed and tons of it, but really lacked "wiggle". If you were in the open field and were is bad position, he could juke you but it seems he rarely juked a defender in good position in the open field; basically, he could run away from you but he wasn't elusive. Cook reminds me of a less powerful Sony in that he's fast and hard to bring down on the outside/open field, but I'm not sure how he'd do running between the tackles regularly (unlike Sony). I think Swift, White, and Cook realize that there will be plenty of work for each of them in today's game. The days of lining up one guy and giving him 40 carries per game is pretty much over, and it'll be more of a 20/15/10 split.

I could get behind that assessment, crispy.

Sony isn't a lightning type so you got him wrong.

If what I was saying I was always right about a backs specific running style, you may have a point...

But, that's not what I am claiming to be right about.

I am always right about which backs will be more successful and which will be underwhelming.

It can be said that both Gurley and Chubb exceeded expectations and KM didn't quite live up to the 5-star billing. Sony is a well-rounded back and has done a better job of living up to his ranking, but I would never pick him over a healthy Chubb if I was starting a team and I certainly would not give him a "thunder" billing. If he isn't a "lightning"type, I'll call him "quiet thunder"

Many folks were right about Gurley/Marshall plus Chubb/Sony. Don't go giving yourself too many hand jobs.

I would have put Michel in the lightening category when he was recruited. He weighed 205, and was billed more for his speed than his power. It was after he got here that he put on 15-20 more pounds of muscle. In fact, one fear when Chubb went down was that he might not be able to be an every down back and run between the tackles, if I recall correctly. He proved that to be incorrect, though.

Not giving myself handy-J's. Just stating a fact of this board. Those that can remember and will be honest about it will tell you I was all alone here in the opinion that RSIV was going to be horribly underwhelming before he ever stepped on campus. Same with Caleb King.

No...the sky is not falling, but we are not Alabama. People are not yet ready to come here to wait in line. I'm simply saying that some of these kids may see a crowded backfield and consider other options.
For instance, it seems we are likely getting Cook because he is more afraid of FSU's RB depth than ours.

Why anyone would have thought Richard was gonna be good is beyond me. Kings issue was all off the field and in his mind, but he at least had ability to run. Shame he never lived up to his potential.

We have done a good job of hiding swift from cook. Once he finds out about him, he is gonna be pissed.

At most positions you'd be right, but we're RBU to a lot of people and that carries a lot of weight. Also I don't think "wait in line" is an accurate description of our RB depth chart next year, we're losing our top two guys so it will be open competition all spring and fall.

There's a lot more to it than that.

Wut? How do you hide the #4 overall RB that we signed not even 5 months ago? It's not liek Cook doesn't hve internet access to look up our depth chart. Hell, it's not like he hasn't watched a very successful older brother go through the same process. If Cook chooses UGA, it's not because we "hid" Swift from him

Good question! Maybe it's magic?

This is what cook said:

"Everybody is leaving UGA, so it is open," Cook said.

"I would start as a freshman," Cook said. "Zamir White, we would be thunder and lightning."
