Can't say that....while true, it will come across as bullshite spin....

Malzahn would say, I personally took a dual threat QB that everyone else wanted as a TE and made him a national champion Heisman winner....Kirby doesn't know shite about QBs and has never coached one, what happens when the OC leaves there

I see your point but I respectfully disagree. Outside of a generational talent such as Cam, Gus has had zero success coaching up QB's.

A very good point that I had not though of, however, Stidham is coming from another school (Baylor) just like Cam did. And he will (probably) only be at Auburn for one season just like Cam.

UGA's QB depth chart is not desirable, but if Fields is as good as advertised he'll sit one season and battle Fromm for the starting job. Both bring different intangibles to the table. I'm a big fan of Fromm but hes the next in line based on the lack of depth. He hasn't even taken a snap in a real game. The last time we had a DT QB we won the SEC, so it's not as if we haven't had success in that area.

Don't get me wrong...I hope you are right. I would like to pull Fields.

Stidham isn't coming out of High School. he is coming from Baylor.

6) You get to play for your home state, and your parents can come see you and your sister in one trip.

Not sure where his parents live, but Auburn could be just as close as Athens.

However, all your other points are excellent, and i hope those pitches work.

My one caveat would be that Auburn will be telling him thta cam, TG III, Russel Wilson, Mariota are changing the way the NFL thinks and plays the game.

I disagree with this line of thinking, but if I were Auburn that is what I would be saying. Most of the good young QB's can run and their teams put in packages so they can run.

Please, don't misunderstand...I hope you guys are right. I am pulling for myself to be wrong on this one!

Right, but Fields is coming from high school. Malzahn has no history of success with HS QBs.

Fields' sister is committed to UGA, not Auburn. Therefore, the parents would be able to see them both in one trip.

They are doing so within a pro-style offense. That point actually helps us.

Supposedly Malzahn's lack of job security is a pretty big deal for Fields as well. Also, tidbit from Rivals yesterday suggested that we are kind of slow playing Corral, we want him to visit in late July with more of his family to make sure he's 100% (and to give more time for Fields to make his decision).

Gus and ButchWax are the hottest seats in the SEC, IMO. I don't blame anyone for looking at other schools than those two.

My bad! I misunderstood! DOH! Yes. You are correct!

Another good point that I had forgotten.

Here's the pitch.

"IF you aren't good enough to beat out JAcob Eason and Jake Fromm, then you aren't going to the NFL regardless of what team you play for. Only the elitist of the elite make it that far. There are 32 starting NFL quarterbacks, out of 1028 Div I starting QB's that have graduated in the last 8 years. If you are special, you'll have no problem taking the job. Don't believe me? Don't think you'll get a chance? Son, when I came in here, I inherited a 5th year senior with 2 years of starting experience under his belt, and an NCAA single-game record for consecutive completions. The true freshman that came in outperformed him in practice. The true freshman got the start. Son, if you come to Georgia, I guarantee you'll get your shot. The rest is up to you."

I don't really follow recruiting much but the White commitment got me excited. Then I saw the rankings and see we have no other good commits and far fewer commits than the other big boys. What is going on there?

Kirby has been head coach for one season. What if Eason would've played like an All-American last year? Kirby wouldn't have recieved any credit. I think comparing an offensive coach vs a defensive coach isn't fair. Actually it's more of an indictment on Gus that he's struggled so bad with QB's from HS.

We have a couple of quality commits, and are expecting several more in the next month or two.

Maybe Kirby should give you the lead on the Fields recruitment. That's a great sales pitch

I just looked at our 2018 class on 24/7. why have we accepted so many commitments from 3 stars this cycle?

I thought we were going to be "Alabama deep" with Kirby. I am not impressed.

Chris Smith will end up being a top 150 player, he's been a terror at 7-on-7's and will be at The Opening in Oregon. Wild goose is a kid who earned his scholarship by camping for the staff, hans't done a lot of other camps so he's a little unknown by a lot of the services. I'm fine with most them.

We'll hire another OC that generally fits with our current plan for the program.

Malzahn is running his system until he gets fired.

When one of those "3*" have offers from Bama, Ohio St, Michigan, USCw, Tennessee, Florida and Auburn, do you really need to question the staff?
