Speaking of which, what's the breakdown of the new guy from Memphis. Better coach than recruiter, vice versa?

So ITS may not take it all the way to NSD.

If I get the feeling, I’m committing right there," he said. "All the schools are great, so I’ve just got to feel if I want to be there.”

Right there with ya.

Yessir.

This is the one that hurts the most. I'm a youngerish (bout to be 38) guy, but the idea of trying to go out to San Fran or New Orleans (which is a sucky stadium in a sucky place) is not very plausible for me. Having three young kids makes this really difficult. I gave up my season tickets so I'd quit missing time with them every weekend in the fall and leaving my wife or the in-laws strapped down with watching them while we travel to a game seems highly unlikely. Miami is a possibility, but damn if that's not pretty much the only other place I might make it to between here and 2024. To have it slip away from us in our own back yard where I could actually BE THERE........it burns. Bad.

Atlanta should never host a playoff game again. Seriously, that was bullshite times bullshite.

I actually feel the opposite. I had a great time and had the least trouble getting into and out of town that I've ever had for ANYTHING. And I worked downtown for three years. Now, does the stadium need more exits? Uh, yeah. But overall, that's a AWESOME venue and I really wish we could do it there again before 2024. Too bad that won't happen.

Could care if the game was in Heaven, I ain't waiting in freezing rain for two hours, while Trump's motorcade comes through, and nobody decides to screenshot their tickets and have no service at gate. That was the biggest clusterfrick ever. Thousands didn't get in until second quarter. People that paid ungodly amounts of money.

Yeah. The Southern stint will tarnish the perception for a bit. His HS connections in state though are quite good. Also, he was destined for failure there simply because he doesn't run the option.

Very much. He'll assist in recruiting and be in our minor league of one day coaches.

Pretty sure Trump is not an triple option guy... seems more like an air raid man to me?

New LB coach wasting no time, per DawgNation. Out to see Quay Walker in Day 1.
quote:

For the record, it was both Glenn Schumann and Dan Lanning. That’s the hard-charging assistant coaching duo that are 27 and 31 years old, respectively. Those two gentlemen will be coaching the linebackers at Georgia for the foreseeable future. Lanning and Schumman were down in Cordele bright and early today. The target? It was 4-star OLB target Quay Walker at Crisp County.

Walker is a bona fide big remaining target for the Bulldogs in 2018.

We’ve covered his decision and thoughts on the month of January going forward in detail earlier this week.

But Friday was something new. Walker is about to take an official visit to Tennessee. That’s where he will reconnect with former Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt and former Bulldog OLBs coach Kevin Sherrer.

I've heard limited info on him...

recruiting coordinator who eat and sleeps football.. will be relentless. great hire..

Ultimately, he was a GA with the Alabama Defense under Kirby. If Kirby liked him enough as a GA that he'd bring him in as an OLB coach, my guess is that he's got similar work ethic to Schumann. Kirby smart to go after older, veteran guys on the offense where he doesn't have the same level of experience, and then younger guys that are less likely to get poached early on defense.

The article you linked implies that Reese isn't even a target anymore. Why did we just get a Michigan Insider with a high level of accuracy throwing a CB flip at us for Reese?

We've always been right there actually. Would still say USCe, but I've felt good on the others for some time. Stealing two from Champ might endanger his job, and we need him over there

I had no idea. I always thought he was one we'd like to have, but just a pipe dream.

So yesterday Kearis Jackson tweeted Tommy Bush:
quote:

Happy Birthday to a future Dawg

To which Bush replied:
quote:

Thank you, bro

Here's hoping that translates to good news for us before too long.

Unfortunately likely not enough room in this class for him anyway, but if you're referring to the "only true LB target remaining" comment, that may be because Reese projects as possibly starting at Safety and transitioning to LB if he bulks up the way many expect? Not certain though...

It was said countless times to get there early and be in line when the gates open. I was in line at 4:55 and in the gates at 5:30. I have no sympathy for the people who chose to get in line late and missed the first quarter.
