Nauta was but hasn't played like it. He's so huge I can see why he dominated high school kids. He's a hell of a blocker though so if he could improve in the will department he could still be a beast. I think Luke Ford ends up being a monster.

Spoke to a USCjr player yesterday. He said the recruiting coaches were guaranteeing Sandige. Which isn't really surprising

Great kid/player, with an amazing Mom. She actually gave us her Blessing. Pretty sure no other school besides Carolina had that.

I believe he is. He's blocked extremely well, and Chaney's offense will expand. He's also has all the things that would make him stand out to League scouts. Pretty sure 247 used to, or still does, put value in rankings for NFL potential? May be dreaming that lol

Was referring to 2018 5* TE's.
I can probably name every UGA 5* back to '02

so you are still supremely confident we are getting Quay Walker? from reading just the public consumption and some of his quotes, looks like he is expanding the teams in it with UT and UF - is that just misdirection?

How confident are you that Quay is a DAWG?

Any surprise recruits that could come in at the last moment?

Possible, but on a needs scale. Surprise would be that he's less mentioned. I've dropped his name once. Lol. We'll see what happens when we "officially" get back to biz on the 11th.....

Sorry man. Was taking a long way around that. If you're from Long County, then you're pretty close to Hinesville....I think.
I'm really close to Walker, Reese, and a couple others in this cycle.
Last year was fun with Bishop and a lil further, but same region Grant.

Walker is a good kid, with a bright future. Whoever gets him, will be very pleased with his efforts. He's got passion and fits us perfectly.
Whatever school fits him best, I'm all for, but he's on my list.

I believe that would be me. You're quite welcome! For those that don't get it, it's a digest-type Word doc that a guy send out each day with the highlights of the various paid services, free sites, Twitter mentions, etc. Mash here if anyone else wants to get on board.

Agreed... he's not been super reliable as a receiver, but in fairness to him, it sure has seemed like a good number of the balls his way have not *arrived* on target... whether that's due to inaccuracy from Jake (seems odd given how accurate he is elsewhere) or routes from Nauta, I have no idea. His blocking has improved dramatically this year though. He got a nice shoutout on twitter for his block on that last Sony Michel run in the Rose Bowl I believe (could have been different play... operating on memory).

Yeah... I *think* Jeremy Ruckert (tOSU) *was* a composite 5* but has since been dropped slightly... he's at #30 overall and is a 5* on 247's own ratings, but not on the composite right now. Otherwise, no TEs currently are 5*... which is more the norm. Not many 5* TE recruits to my knowledge.

My understanding is that not many TEs get 5* status. I think its probably due to not many HS offenses featuring the tight end as well as the physical requirements of the position (big time blocker and receiver athleticism) lending themselves to later development on those type of athletes.

So it’s looking good for Tyson Campbell and Justin Fields is on Isaac Taylor at the all-star game.

Y’all remember when Americus said we could end up with 9 5-stars...I think he is the one that said that.

That would make us two closer and they say Channing Tindall is about to get his 5th star. If that holds true that would give us 9.

One more thing, currently this class alone we are one 5-Star from equaling the current number on Bama’s roster. INSANE!

Tis a new day and us winning on Monday will be like when Muhammad Ali fought his last major fight.

That would be absolutely insane. I have no doubts the other fan basses will be clamoring for a NCAA investigation if UGA lands 25% of the nations 5*'s lmao.

Brenton Cox with back to back sacks in the UA all American game. So much for that not looking good in practice stuff.
