Short answer is it's not inherently significant, but as we hit milestones of 100 or 1000 replies, Dallas has become the defacto good luck official recruiting thread treasurer and announces that threshold. It is generally frowned upon to post in a manner that takes a 100 or 1000th reply from dallas, though sometimes cannot be avoided due to his travel and/or nap schedule. When a poster does indeed take his spot, particularly on the 1000th reply slots, they then receive much ridicule and all blame for any bad news until the situation can be rectified.
ETA: At present, DawgsLife is responsible for breaking it most recently, but good news trumps a posting error... #ATD #DOT
