I agree with Crow. I don’t want anyone in town recruiting for another fricking school. I think we need to assign someone to him and watch real close. If we find him trying to get guys to go to Clempsun, we put him on a bus back home.

You mean Clemson negative recruiting against us because of the Brini/Patrick off the field stuff? I can't see how that would be effective.
If they're telling Mom that her kid is going to be surrounded by thugs then of course it could be effective. Hopefully we lay all those concerns to rest this weekend, having Thomas and Blount should only help that.

We’re in the CFP and will likely finish with the #1 recruiting class in the SEC, and yet are now in slight chaos.

Interesting times.

ETA: I also have a somewhat weird feeling Salyer is committing soon. I do not know why, but I’m just throwing it out there on the off chance I’m right and can brag about it later

That would be about as easy to see through as a screen door. Transparent as hell.

Dabo is desperate and plenty experienced in negative recruiting, I'm sure he made a plausible case. Doesn't help that every time one of our players gets arrested it gets media circulation within the state for like a week.

He's a pretty clear lean to Clemson imo, and we don't need their staff giving him ideas before he shows up. He can do whatever he wants on his own dime, but we don't need to host a dude on an OV who's gonna be recruiting our guys to Clemson the whole time.

Your'e guessing though, right? I mean, we feel like we are in it. I can't blame a kid for looking around. It seem natural to swing by Clemson before coming here.

I mean, you might be right, but I'm not ready to close the door on a top recruit without absolutely knowing. I think Kirby can make an impact. Just my opinion.

He was just at Clemson like a week or two ago. What's he gonna see in the 2 hrs he's there on the way to Athens?

If we bring him in, he should be babysat by a staffer the whole time. I've seen this move before.

ETA: I think Clemson's trying to make their move to swing Salyer, and UGA needs to cut off all the oxygen to that effort.

His case is not plausible. It's bullshite. He's had players arrested. It's a transparent and desperate move that any idiot can see right through.

Honestly Mays isn't that big of a loss if he goes to Clemson. Salyer is the big prize, and I don't see him getting swayed to Clemson. He has been heavy UGA lean thru the bad, and now that we are in the CFP and have one of the best recruiting classes in the country Clemson all of a sudden can convince him to think about them. Nah he's not an early enrollee so he's probably just gonna take his time and make sure he didn't get caught up in all the success UGA had recently. No way he turns down the chance to play for his favorite coach, (Pittman) for his favorite team, (UGA) and with his childhood best friend (Thomas)

I haven't been online much today but I'm pretty shocked about the sakyer delay. There are tons of reasons why he's still ours but could Hill committing have made him have second thoughts? I know JS is a G that doesn't come around very often so that should be irrelevant but I wonder if getting another highly ranked guard may have given him pause. Any ideas?

Hill's commitment is unlikely to have any impact on Salyer one way or the other.

Every insider has basically said that Salyer may wait until February, but things could change this weekend. I trust Kirby and Pittman to put any concerns at ease and get it done.

Dabo has taken over for Hugh Freeze as the leading two faced hypocrite in college football. Has always been a charlatan, IMO.

I really don't think so... Salyer is seen by most as a guy who comes in and probably steals a starting spot early... Most see Hill as someone who's going to need a RS season at a minimum. It's not something I see him being overly concerned with. If he was worried about the depth chart, I'd say Netori Johnson redshirting and the emergence of Ben Cleveland would be more concerning than Hill.

Quote from Bulldog Bob for those who think it's unrealistic Dabo could effectively be negative recruiting our 3 recent arrests

I'm confident Kirby and Pitt can get things cleared up this weekend though.

Dabo is a punk, I mean what coach doesn't let his commits look around just to make sure that's really what they want

Stop freaking out, all year people negative recruited against Smart saying he couldn't win. Then he proved these slimey arse coaches he could win so instead of selling recruits what his program offers they negative recruit arrests. Always some slimeball coach willing to play dirty.

I'm not a huge fan of it, but just keep in mind what people have been saying on here for a while... Kirby can negative recruit with the best of them. They are paid to win and get elite athletes on the roster to support future wins. It's not necessarily slimeball or dirty to bring up arrests... it is, however, short sighted and very dishonest, seeing as how Clemson has had their own share of problems, and that's in a town where cops will legitimately look the other way.

I care a lot about Salyer because I really believe he wants to be a Dawg. Don’t care at all about Mays. Salyer is the biggest player in this class outside of JF and Zeus.
