So, we have now 7 spots on our class of 24, and Davis is about to verbal to us. 6 left.
Taylor says we're leading. 5 left
Salyer and Mays heavy leans, right? 3 left
Reese? best ILB hope for us, CBs looking good. 2 left
Cover corner, a must have. 1 left
Ford? Hill? Tindall?
Any other candidates for the magnificent 7?

We'll almost definitely mutually part ways with somebody else, have to account for that.

Expect another spot or two to open due to academic issues. Don't know any names, but it's bound to happen due to the new 25 cap. Anyone who is a risk to nonqualify simply isn't worth the risk of permanently losing a signing spot.
Edit: Great minds, Sumter. Great minds.

Nadab Joseph is visiting us this weekend and announcing next Monday. Do we have the bagmen in place?

I expect him to commit to Bama on Monday. If we pull him, then rest assured that Kirby has the bag man network fully established.

If, and that's a big if, we end up, say, with 8 spots, not 7, how would you rank in order of most likely to start 3 years for us, the top 8 we're still after? Or the top 8 prospects out there?
Sayler
Mays
Reese
cover corner (keep forgetting his name)
Tindall
Taylor
Ford
Hill
Just saying, maybe we take 2 more OLs, not 3
Or, is there someone else out there you'd put in our top 8 possibilities?

We need a cover corner badly but I think luke ford will end up being a beast. I don’t want to miss out on him, who all is above him on our list right now? I’d guess Salyer, Mays, Cover Corner, DT.

I think I should have rated Davis about 5th in order of priority.

replace Hill with a DT and I think you nailed it.

My list from most to least likely to be 3+ year starters:
1. Salyer
2a. Tindall
2b. Reese
(Both of these guys have potential to be all SEC linebackers IMO. Tindall the better pure ILB, but Reese right there with him due to versatility. Could easily flex up to safety/star in certain packages)
3. Cover corner - mostly need based. I am
Pretty high on Ameer Speed and also suspect that Mark Webb might turn some heads at corner next year. An elite player could come in and compete early though.
4. Mays/Hill - great prospects, not as clear plug and play potential compared to Salyer.
5. Taylor - Really versatile athlete, but receiver depth chart is getting thick in a hurry
6. Ford - good player and huge target, but established starters and lowish utilization in receiving game makes me think he comes on slower.
FWIW, I would probably slot J. Davis and hopefully another DL (Barmore) in somewhere around 4 or 5

Credit Tray Scott. He gave Davis his first offer when he was at UNC.

Chip Towers is losing it again. He’s written more articles about Richt than UGA this week and now totally Fah-reaking out about Tae Taylor tweets. Dude is the worst

Chip was giddy after the auburn loss. Never seen or heard him that happy

Seems like just yesterday this thread was in panic mode over DLine recruiting. Nice pick up for the trenches
