Well, that is kind of a desperation move. I like Schunk as a pitcher, but not sure he is the answer as the full time closer. He is better suited, imo, in spot duty. Hopefully, part of this strategy is to motivate the others to up their game and throw more strikes

Yeah I don't really have a problem putting position players on the mound during midweek games and such, but I don't see this working out too well against the Vanderbilts and Floridas. As for the strategy of this, who the hell knows with Stricklin.

How about we work on getting into actual save situations first. If the Charleston series was any indication, our starting pitching is going to get boat raced by good hitting

We currently have 5 series against SEC teams in the top 10, plus Vanderbilt (14th currently), plus a couple games against Clemson (11th). So yeah maybe it won't matter who the hell our closer is.

Best case scenario imo

3-1 vs Kennesaw State, Georgia State, Charleston Southern, Presbyterian
2-1 vs Georgia Tech
0-2 vs Clemson

3-0 vs Tennessee
2-1 vs Missouri, Kentucky
1-2 vs Alabama, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Arkansas, Ole Miss
0-3 vs Vanderbilt, Florida

28-27(12-18)

Sounds about right. And we would be told it’s progress and Stricklin would get an extension

Dawgs have 2 Grand Slams in 3 innings tonight. Curry just crushed one of the batter's eye in deep center and it's 14-3. Cam Shepherd had the first in the inning before him

McGovern just knocked the dog piss out of one to deep, deep right. 8-4 Dawgs in the 6th

Looks like we've gotten out of bases loaded situations twice tonight unscathed. Not sure if that's us being clutch or Bama being inept, but I'll take it I suppose.

Little bit of both. Going to get us seriously kilt against good conference teams

Loaded the bases yet again. We are insisting on playing with fire

Been keeping up on twitter and the fricking pen and lack of defense does it again. 5 spot for Bama and the lead.

This team might actually be fun to watch if the pen could pitch worth a shite.

BTW Bama has 4 errors tonight which is the only reason we are tied 9-9 at this point.

Sad when our best relief pitcher is also our 3rd baseman.

Tied game headed to the 10th. Anytime you score 9 runs you should win that game and, yet, here UGA baseball is.

Dawgs get runners on 2nd and 3rd with 2 away and... Trey Logan comes in to bat into a fielder's choice with a .000 BA. What the frick.

I guess I was wrong about Schunk being able to close. I hope Strickland doesn't wear him out too early

Nice inning by Kristofak. Good things can happen when you throw strikes

13 innings in and we just batted Kristofak because we're out of subs.
