Breon Dixon has said that he wouldn't mind playing safety and that he was trying to cut weight to do that. He is only in that 210-215 range. Now how Kirby and staff haven't said one way or the other about it.

As far as ILBs go I think we take 2-4, but I think you can scratch Will Ignont off that list. I also think Jameyst Williams winds up at Clemson or South Carolina.

Looks like Beal is missing from the list? (unless I missed it) That would be a 5th 5* (again assuming LeCounte gets his)

Correct somehow I'd left Beal off. Lost has been updated.

All told, I don't think we take all of those ILBs (wouldn't be surprised if we actually try to pick up a JUCO DL somewhere given how small this years class could be) and I'm not positive we get all of those guys by any stretch. Just positing the what-ifs of this class

I get all giddy thinking about the possibility of landing the #1 class...then look at ohio state's.

according to the composite there are 32 5* right now. Currently OSU has 3 committed (in addition to the 33rd ranked guy as well, the top ranked 4*). Of the still uncommitted 5 stars, they are in position to potentially get 5 more (obviously pie in the sky, but there's a chance).

8 or 9 of the top 33 players is just ridiculous.

Taking the top class in the SEC is enough for me... ultimately they're the only ones we *know* we'll play that we give a shite about (sorry nerds). If the chips fall the right way for a #1 overall class, would be pretty awesome, but I do think it would take some pretty ideal circumstances.

oh yeah, I'm not complaining. I'm not complaining at all even if bama ends up blowing us out of the water (which I don't see). Was really just more so pointing out how insane osu's class will be.

Urban Meyer is an evil piece of shite but he can recruit and coach better than just about anyone other than Saban

I can say with full confidence that we may very well be witnessing the single greatest assemblage of talent for a UGA team ever in 2017. Just depth wise, top to bottom, I think it might be the most complete team we'll ever have had. And that's assuming Chubb and Sony jump early

We will have more to worry about with Ohio State in the next 5 years then Bama. I just hope Michigan can get to speed and they can beat each other up before we meet them in the Championships

Beal *is* a DE/OLB (likely an OLB if you ask me). He's rated as a 5* DE

disagree. OSU may be the best/most talented team over that span, but they aren't on the schedule and there's no guarantee we play them unless we're both in the playoffs.

The SECC basically runs through bama, so they are more of a concern. Especially since we are in far more head to head battles with them as well. Despite them not being regularly on the schedule, it's about a 50% chance that if we want to win the SEC we'll have to end up playing them for it.

another just for fun, depending on which service you use we could *potentially* end up with the #1 overall player this year from:

Georgia
Alabama
Tennessee
Pennsylvania
Mississippi (not happening, but possible)

pretty nice.

Agreed on Saban hanging it up. I think he'll retire before Kirby's first full cycle of kids move through Athens.

Didn't Williams pretty much come out and say he wanted to go to UGA earlier in the year? I could be mistaken but I thought I seen it in a couple of articles.

I think you are right, but it seems I have been hearing/reading that others are climbing into the fight for him. He is insanely talented, but his size bothers me. of course, some believe he can be a "Honey Badger" type player and Mathieu is a smaller type guy. If you have a nose for the football it doesn't matter how big you are.

ETA

My remark was more of a feeling than having heard anything concrete, though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Looks like we are thinking alike. that should make you very nervous.

Ignont is a hard one to decipher. he could actually end up anywhere. He seems to be all over the place. Either he is just scattered, or prefers playing it close to the vest. I just don't feel good about him.

Their class is looking insane right now. I was talking to one of their fans the other day, and he indicated they were going to have a relatively small class this year, though.....sooooo....who knows?
