That sucks a lot if he sticks with it after Lecounte, Poole III, and Fromm get their hands on him

Sweet Jesus, Butch has gotten between 5-10 commits today. Probably around 7ish, but tough keeping up with all the names.

Doubt they all stick, and it is their biggest recruiting day from what o read, but wow what a day. How many does Butch tell to go kick rocks once he gets the slightest scent of a five stars blood?

#93Day would have likely yielded a similar haul for us, if the murmurs are true and Kirby is having kids announce on a schedule to keep momentum going.

This will be the key. Haven't kept up, but from the SEC Recruiting board here, all the 17 guys appear to be 3*. I'm not huge on exact rankings, but would figure that if the turnout was that good for the weekend, some of the commits would be 4* as well. Will read up a bit more after the dust settles from the weekend. If Butch pulls too many more last minute shenanigans, he may start to find high schools a bit less than hospitable across the southeast. I think Kirby is going to have to be careful about it'd this year even. His brand is "relationship" recruiting. Need to balance goodwill with good recruiting in year one I feel. At the very least, if something changes along the way, just be upfront and don't string a kid along till right before signing day.

This would have been me if I was good enough to get an offer from UGA. Never a doubt. GATA!

Can he catch? The kid looks like he could play tight end with the way he moves.

I know he is a lineman. I am just saying the dude sure can move for his size. I guess thats why his coach keeps talking about his athleticism!

FWIW... SIAP

quote:

Georgia is gaining a mid-summer transfer in Tulsa defensive back J.R. Reed. Reed is 6-foot-2, 175-pound prospect that has signed with UGA and set to enroll in August. At this time, it looks that Reed will sit out this season. Reed appeared in 13 games in 2015 and finished the season with five tackles...

He is the son of former NFL wide receiver Jake Reed. Reed has some connections to the state of Georgia. He is the cousin of the state's top prospect Deangelo Gibbs.

TIFWIW, but per Radi this morning on The Bulldog Roundtable on 680, with the addition of JR Reed, DeAngelo Gibbs to "UGA is pretty much a done deal." If not "firmly in the driver's seat."

Not sure I buy anything Radi says these days... he was awfully sunshine and rainbows the last 2 NSD lead ups about guys that it ended up being pretty clear were never going to happen. Hope for the best, but don't expect it until they ink the paper.

I pretty much stick to rusty for news/predictions and Radi for tweeting pictures with decently funny captions

J. Williams has an interview from this week where he names Gibbs as a commit and quickly backtracks saying it was a slip of the tongue.
