I agree wholeheartedly. It is one of the best we've ever signed, if not the best. It's still hard not to be disappointed going 0 for 3 on signing day on Bryant, Solomon, and Williams. I thought we would get at least one, but it's not a big deal either way. At least Solomon didn't go to Bama and at least Bryant seems to be going to the SEC West. Then again, I'm greedy as hell. I wanted all of them.

Yikes. Herman better get that fixed with a quickness.
He will. He signed 5* Ed Oliver at Houston. He can recruit. He just wasn't given a whole lot of time to remedy that situation at Texas. I imagine they'll be back towards the top 15 next year.

Yeah Bryant committed to the Barn.

Wonder if Murchenson (sp) is back on the table.

Everything you just said is true, but it is disappointing to see big time recruits leave the state on national signing day every year, recruits that we were very much in on. It's sometimes hard to hide that disappointment.
If you are even remotely disappointed today, you haven't been paying attention or as I've said to you too many times in this thread already, recruiting might not be for you.
Today is not a disappointment. Aubrey Solomon's commitment shouldn't be viewed as a disappointment. Most of us for a *very* long time have been saying that AS is a pipe dream. If we landed him, it would have been a weird long con game that he's been playing, but all indications were that he wasn't really interested in coming to UGA. Would it have been great to get a top flight DT? Sure... But he was never going to make or break this class. Bigger concern to me is turning away Murch's offer? Maybe there is something else coming we're not expecting, but if it was truly in anticipation of a possible AS commit, seems like a misstep. Obviously, hindsight is 20/20...

Yeah I would've rather him signed with LSU honestly. Oh well, moving on!

Does the timing really matter though? If lecounte and swift had held out until this morning and then committed we'd all be creaming our panties and saying kirby is the greatest ever but at the end of the day it's still the same class with the same guys.

And sometimes recruits want to get as far away from their families as possible. Not all of them have lovey dovey 1950's Post-Nuclear families like the Donna Reed show.

Bryant to Auburn
I hope the Dawgs can flip J Williams.

So, if I'm right, we have 25 commits plus 2 PWOs.
Why exactly are we concerned? Don't we actually have one more than the scholarships we had left to offer.
I think we good homies.

while that's certainly true, we have 10 of the top 15 players in state.
bama will probably have 6ish of the top 15 in bama
real USC currently has 3 of the top 15 in Cali.
Texas currently has ZERO commits from the top 15 in TX.
Between UF/FSU/Miami, the leader for top 15 guys in FL is FSU with 3.
LSU currently has 5 of the top 15 in LA.
Considering how deep the state of GA is, we pretty much cleaned up the state.
Heard Rusty on Bulldog round table comparing this class to the Dream Team. Said we missed on 11 through 20 in-state the Dream Team year, which included 6 NFL players. Said this year we signed 8 of them. His take is that the biggest difference in CMR and CKS is what follows the elite players we seem to get every year.
You have to get the big Dawgs to compete. But to win big you almost have to have a Pollack/ Jennings/ T. Davis/ Andrews type production from unexpected places....unless you are Bama of course.

This is a much better class than the Dream Team on paper

I believe it was discussed previously but it looks like Bryant's coach might have been offered a job at the Barn. Anyone know of any truth to this? I know the Bitchigan fans said we offered Isaiah Wilson's coaches positions on our staff but he has said on twitter MULTIPLE times that is not true.

Has all the hype for us landing JW died out? Last night it seemed like we thought we were really in play for him.

Maybe, but if he's qualified for it I don't have any real problem with that.

with us getting stokes this morning I would not get your hopes up on that.

No I think we had like 6 or 7 of those at least. It also looks like we might end up with 26 commits as well

Great class but this close is familiar.

Not even close. And by all appearances character should not be as big an issue. Almost a guarantee more will pan-out given the sheer quality top to bottom.
