you're wrong about Saban
Posted on 4/21/16 at 4:19 pm to Dawg in Beaumont
Agreed there is no way to tell how emotion plays into it. Saban has gotten pissed and gotten into players faces before. From seeing highligjts of his practices I would say the players do not want the HC pissed at them at all.

just as wrong as the people who say richt has never shown emotion.
He's been exuberant, he's been pissed, hell he cussed on national TV.

Yep. But for some reason, we have Richt-emotion truthers still bringing this up. It's such a pointless criticism.

Let's bring this shite back around to the topic at hand. Let's close the book on Richt. Love the man. I hope when his career is over and done with that he maintains a relationship with the university.
Unrelated, I can't seem to find the article, but did anyone else read one in the last few weeks where the recruit was quoted as claiming that Pittman (maybe Chaney) had told him that he had no intention of coaching anywhere else and that he wanted to finish his coaching career at UGA? I feel like it was one about Max Wray, but could be wrong. I just can't seem to find the quote now, and debating whether I just imagined it. If I'm right that it was about Pittman and it's true, I just keep thinking about how great that is for the future state of our OL classes.

I remember that, too. I can't exactly place it, but I think I may have heard Jeff Sentell or someone say it on the Dawgnation podcast. Don't hold me to it. Any chance you listen to that?

I do. So it's very possible that was the spot, but for some reason I thought I'd read it. Either way... glad to hear that someone else remembered. I just remember my jaw dropping a little when I read/heard it. One of those "under the radar" comments that had huge implications IMO.

Good stuff from Nations #1 all purpose RB...D'Andre Swift (Philadelphia/St. Josephs)

The Bulldogs have hosted Swift, the No. 1 prospect in Pennsylvania and No. 23 overall recruit in the country, twice in three weeks.
"I came with my cousin and a wide receiver the first time," Swift said. "This time, I brought my dad and he loved it. He said it was nothing but positive for us."
"It was a really good visit," Swift said. "The offense looked really good, the atmosphere felt like a game day and it was just a great experience. My favorite part about it was just the energy. From the moment I left the airport to tailgates to the stands being packed to the other recruits, I could tell everyone supports Georgia. Who would not want to play for a program that can put about 100,000 in the stands for a spring game?"

Kirby mutherfriken Smart! If he can coach we're gonna have a good run.

Just saw that Swift is 5'9" and 204 LBS. He would be like tackling a canon ball!

Just reading some of the twitter I don't recall a more vocal group about going out and trying to recruits kids to play. Lecounte, Fromm, Poole etc are just on fire right now. This class should end up being pretty damn good.

I would agree with this. It seemed like in classes prior we would have like one guy, maybe two that would be super vocal on social media, but it really feels like more than half of the commits are all openly discussing who *else* they're trying to bring to UGA this time around. Get those kids as much UGA gear as they can carry on their visits, and let them do their thing. I think some of the interviews with Mecole, Tyler Clark, and others from the 16 class have shown how important "recruiting by recruits" has been and will continue to be.

just from what i'm picking up on lately, this could be the best class we've ever had (especially defensively). i know it's early, but i don't recall this much momentum/excitement this early on before.
I'm excited.

I love that these guys are challenging each other before they even get on campus (assuming Herrien makes the grades), but dammit if this doesn't seem like a future "the most Georgia thing ever" moment in the making if one of these kids tears something. LINK

A lot of positive momentum with the in state receivers right now. Holloman is on commit watch and we currently lead for Blount. Also have good standing with Nico Collins right now, which would be a monster pull because he's the number one player in Alabama.

If we add Demetris Robertson, RB Brian Herrien, and LB Mykelle McDaniel, we will have a 247 score for 2016 of 287 which is good enough for 5th place overall (we would pass Michigan and Ole Miss).
Kirby would officially have a Top 5 class and the most 5 stars of any class in 2016, all in his first year.
That's unmatched by Saban, Meyer, Harbaugh. Anyone.

I was watching Rusty’s periscope chat on Thursday. He doesn’t think UGA would take McDaniel and they are iffy on Herrien. He is leaning towards neither of those guys at UGA.

Didn't Herrien say in an article recently that if his scores come up he is going to Ga? I've looked for it and can't find it but i thought I read something like that.

McDaniel I could see us passing on but no way do I think we pass on Herrien. We needs bodies at RB
