I don't think Chubb is back to true form, I'll agree with you on this.

I still think it unlikely that they would BOTH stay, however, they are pretty close and it would be a DGD thing to do for sure.

I love Chubb but he's nowhere near pre-injury. Watch his highlights from the 2014 Auburn an Arkansas games. He just hasn't made a full recovery yet. I'm not sure he gets drafted. This year's running back class is pretty nasty.

He's one year removed from a catastrophic knee injury.
I hope my eyes are lying.

Gurley was less than a year adn still went top 10.

Chubb has proven enough to get drafted, although surely not as high as he would have been projected pre-UT '15.

With that said...RBs in teh NFL have an extremely short shelf life, and for someone who has already had a debilitating injury they probably realize their meal ticket is now. Chubb can go in the 3rd round and be set for life, or come back to UGA for another year and risk another injury and get nothing.

I will say, the biggest factor in UGA's favor is that this is a very deep RB draft class which is going to hurt our guys' stock a bit. But still, they're both probably leaving.

Surely you're not comparing those two injuries

Sorry for going on and on. Wrong board

6'3 JUCO DB Lonnie Johnson will visit us this weekend and could announce early next week. He was committed to Ohio State at one point in high school but academic problems sent him on the JUCO route.

We lose Thompson and Atkins off the Dline after 2017 so I don't think the depth would be an issue. He definitely would get a lot of pt in the rotation.

I was talking about the good kind of depth. With how we rotate DL, there's still a lot of opportunity for him to play next season.

If Chubb returns it's a big mistake. A RB has a finite amount of carries in his lifetime and Chubb already has the stigma of one major knee injury. If he gets injured again, it will all but kill any chance of him being drafted. If he leaves he'll probably end up somewhere in the 4th-6th round, but he'll be in the league and have a chance to show what he's got. RB's should almost always leave early unless they have an undeniable chance to really improve their draft stock.

247 projects Solomon to UGA but all I read is Michigan and Bama. What gives?

No clue. Rivals guys seem to think we're still in good shape but as of a few weeks ago he was back in love with michigan again and anytime bama feels kinda good about someone that usually doesn't bode well. I honestly don't have any idea.

If we can somehow get solomon and wilson I wouldn't care if those are the only 2 other guys we get I'd be thrilled with this class.

Chubb and Soñy will both be millionaires in a few months and I am happy for them.

If we some how get Wilson and Solomon it would be the best class we've ever had, and that's not including the rest of the commits we are still in it for. Gibbs, McBride, etc.

Rusty at 247 thinks that we're in pretty good shape for Solomon but it's still a very fluid situation. At this point, I'd include him in my mock class but it would be with relatively low uncertainty.

I always take Rivals' feelings on recruits with a grain of salt. The 247 and Scout guys were telling the boards that Derrick Brown was likely headed to Auburn almost a week out, while Rivals was still pushing "Brown is a silent commit" throughout the morning of NSD. The subscribers there are a little more sunshiney than most and I think they (the writers) feel they (the subscribers) have to get treated with kid gloves, sometimes.
