Mcbride has been one of the few ILBs in the news for UGA for a while.

It is boom or bust with him at the position. We need him.

Idk but I've got to imagine that Ridley and Wims would pretty much have spots locked down if they continue to progress as they should. Throw Imac in there in teh slot and it might be tough.

On the other hand, I hope he does bc that'd mnean that he's absolutely balled out in camp.

Unlikely. Pretty raw. He'll play though

Do you guys think its fair to judge Kirby's recruiting prowess on the guys on the fence?

For instance Soloman and Collins?

UGA has missed on guys like this more often then not.

Can kirby close on the guys who are iffy and should we judge his recruiting prowess on pulling these types of guys?

No, who is doing that?

Richt was always in the final 2 for some big time studs but many many times they left at the 11th hour. I'm hopeful that kirby will start reeling some of those guys in that we've missed in the past.

We are in the hunt for them. I don't think it's unfair to judge him from guys on the fence. A big key is being in the hunt. He's doing a great job recruiting. If it translates onto the field we will be in great shape.

I think you judge him on the whole picture, not just what the NSD guys do. You're always going to miss some down the stretch. Usually more than you hit.

He's "closed" on more players than we usually do already.

Most of the NSD stuff is way overblown. A month after the fact as things cool down and Spring practice starts, it's hard to even remember who will be coming in in the Summer let alone who announced one day in February.

Monty Rice has apparently cancelled his OV but Keith Niebuhr CBd him to us yesterday.

another thing is that with richt we seemed to get white hot in the summer then limp to the finish, where Kirby looks to have us gaining steam and saving some big commits til closer to NSD. That's refreshing.

The strategy has definitely been to have guys come in preseason and postseason for big weekends but come on your own dime for games and camps. We will see how it pays off (to this point, incredibly well)

I mean I didn't want to sound like an ungrateful fan cause I am behind Kirby 100%. I just wanted to get a gauge on what folks consider ELITE recruiting. This class is insane for UGA, and I'd be happy if we finished today..

but getting guys like Soloman and Collins make classes Elite imo, I just didn't know how anyone else felt.

This kid is super underrated IMO. Really like watching him play, definitely fits the Roquan Smith style ILB role

Elite recruiting is signing elite classes that lead to elite teams. Solomon wouldn't be any less likely to make the class elite if he'd been a 100% Dawg lock the whole time.

I couldn't give two shits about whether the guys that make up those elite classes were on the fence going into NSD. Most of our commits were on the fence at some point.

I consider elite recruiting top 3 nationally. We've made our way up to #5 or #6 before but that kinda rings hollow when the 4 or 5 teams above you have like 10 more total combined 4/5* guys. That's a massive gap.
