Now the AJC says he's signed grant-in-aid paperwork with Tech.

Tired of being dissed by this kid..making us look like we're his last option...let him go to Tech,Cal,Standford or Bama...any where but here.

Same here. I'm over Demetris Robertson. Big time prima donna...and that weird stage brother situation... No thanks. I don't care if he's the next Jerry Rice or Terrell Owens.

And if he can't make the minimum scores for Cal or Stanford without this much fuss, he probably doesn't belong at those places anyway. He might be a bit deluded as to just how "academic" he is...

I think it's just Stanford he's having trouble getting in.

I stand corrected. But why are we this kid's backup? I think it ought to be like a job offer...you only get so much time to decide before the offer is pulled.

The whole situation of signing financial letters but not an NLI by NSD was a bad precedent IMO. I guess we can thank Roquan for that. You want to go through this crap with a bunch of prima donnas every year? Hell, next we'll just start paying them an outright salary and not even require them to actually enroll in the university...just give 'em the uniforms and a monthly check until they're ready for the NFL.

I don't really care where he goes at this point. I'd love to see him at UGA but does it really take this long to decide? I get the whole want to go to Stanford idea but if he can't even qualify what makes him think he can handle a full class load?

And then you say Robinson has trouble deciding.

Robinson can make the team better and there is room in the class. No coach would pull an offer put of petty spite.

Exactly. Robertson would make the team better, hopefully.

A LOT of people keep saying they hope we start doing "shady" recruiting so we can reel in the top players. If people are willing to do that why would we care if Robertson waits until the day before preseason camp starts? We have open scholarships. What difference does it make how long it takes?

we aren't on ole miss or auburn's level, but anyone who thinks we aren't bending the rules is just naive.

I missing your point here. I'd like to see all the great athletes at UGA but like other posters I'd just like to see him decide already.

I agree. Some on here fail to realize that, though.
But my point is....we have an open scholarship. Why would we NOT take him if Stanford, ND, Tech, Alabama, and 10 other schools decided not to? I don't care if we are his 20th choice. If we have an open scholarship, and he decides to come here we should take him and be happy.

I'm not Whiznot....but why? What difference does it make? Everybody is getting bent out of shape just because THEY want to know and are getting mad because they don't know. What difference does it make that he is taking a long time to decide?

Ok. No one is bent out of shape. I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion but your are way off base. I'm sure the coaches and support staff would like to be focusing on 2017 recruits and spring training instead of this but maybe I'm wrong.

UGA pride. Who wants some kid that has us as his third or fourth choice? I think we should get the program to the level where we don't have to wait on any prima donnas this late because we've already got so many 5 stars signed.

What? It's no secret he wants to go to Stanford, but if he ends up at Georgia how would you deduce the above?

This is the problem with the transparency in modern recruiting. It's up to the kid when to decide and where to go. It's up to you to decide whether you let it affect your wellbeing or not.

Lets not forget that if it wasnt for his brother convincing him he could handle the work load at Stanford, he would have signed his LOI with Bama on signing day

Sure they are. I don't necessarily mean you, so don't misunderstand. But when we have people on here saying he is a prima donna and they hope he doesn't come to UGA......I would say that is being bent out of shape.

Nope. I'd say you are 100% correct. But I also bet they would love to add one more 5* recruit to the team. Read back the last 3-4 pages if you don't think people are bent out of shape.

Personally, if he helps us win a National Championship, I don't care if we are his 10th choice. I would LIKE for all our players to want to be here more than anywhere else, but don't you think we are taking kids who were not our first choice? it works both ways. I can assure you were were not every recruits first choice that ended up here....but maybe they will get to UGA and see that we truly are the best choice for them and they will be very, very happy.

True. If we get him, I will be thrilled. If he goes somewhere else I will be disappointed, but mover right along. I think many on here that are criticizing him just want closure. Understandable. they want to know if he is coming here. That's ok. I do too. But, in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter if he signed on signing day or if he signs May 31.
