Couple things notable from this class:
1. We will never be competitive for the bag man kids - that's ok in my book, but we need to spot it earlier and move on quicker to focus on others
2. Kirby is a relentless recruiter - there will be many great classes over the next few years
3. Our real recruiting competition in my mind is Bama - as of right now, they have exactly 1 commit from the state of GA, and he's a three star TE
4. This is a great class - only Bama has more 5 stars and only Bama and OSU have a higher average rating. We got a great receiver class to go with a 5 star QB. Only disappointments here are OL and LB, and we do need to fix that in 2017

Your going to tell me Kirby's delay in keeping Rocker in limbo didn't open the door for AU? That's the point I'm making.

On the LB thing I think we are going to be good. We return a good bit of solid LBs annnd we have 2 good ones committed for '17.

Letting Kirby stay for that natty instead of focusing on staff and UGA stuff really paying off....??

He was gone for the Dead Period. It didn't hurt. We had a new coaching staff. We lost several kids when Richt left, but kept the main kids. Smart gave us a shot at at least one recruit (Robertson) that might pay off.

I'd rather miss out on one recruit than be saddled with the "wrong" guy as a position coach. If he wasn't ready to pull the trigger, so be it. We've got him now, and no excuses for 2017's recruiting class.

Agreed. OL is really the place I'm concerned about after today.

Robertson isn't announcing today correct? Anyone know when his expected announcement date is?

I've said as much as well. At this point, we're looking at Pittman's ability as a coach to take what we have and make it functional. He's got some pieces, just has to figure out what the right arrangement will be, and then pray that we don't get hammered with injuries.

Believe it was sometime between Feb 13-17? Basically comes down to test scores come back, which dictates whether he can OV to Stanford or not. Assuming scores don't improve enough and he makes it to Athens with his Mom this weekend, good chance we could land him.

And Devah Whaley and one or two more. But we all knew there would be some losses when we fired Richt. BUT....we needed a QB and WR talent badly and it looks like we got it. The only position we whiffed badly on was OL and we still got 2 or three decent looking guys, there.

Since when is a 5 star as good as him scared of a depth chart. WTF is this shite. And Alabama has fricking Ridley and a ton of beast of their own. What is this shite.

What additions? Only WR that wasn't already committed was Simmons. 5 star scared of a 3 star?

I stand by this... Again. If we can't get these 5* players from in state on NSD then I'm still convinced UGA plays cleaner than other programs. Year after year it's the same shite. Can you imagine a 5* from Alabama choosing UGA over auburn?

If we add Laguins and Robertson we would have (At this moment) a #5 class. That would be with 22 recruits. Think about it. Almost every other team ahead of that would have signed 24 or 25 recruits. (Alabama the exception) Guys, we got a LOT of talent.

Kind of what I was thinking. If he's legit afraid of not enough playing time a) don't think I'd want him after all and b) how dafuq does he think he'll see the field at Bama?

Kid looks to be a special talent, but you gotta come in prepared to compete. Landon Dickerson answered that question so well when they asked him about his expectations to play early "I expect to get the chance to *compete* for playing time early..."

I don't remotely disagree. The "avg rating" value is pretty indicative (top 1-3 depending on the site). We filled this class with quality, which is a good fricking start. A real OT was a big need, so missing hurts, but time to focus on who they can get in 2017... and not just one guy... it needs to be a monster OL class 5-7 guys that are high quality, because at least 2 of them will likely be starting or taking significant play time.
