Well the plane was reportedly in SB middle of last week

It's all just speculation at this point..no one really knows. One of the media outlets on twitter said it was like trying to get info from the Pentagon to try and get a list of possible OCs for UGA. Hahaha they are being very tight-lipped. So I imagine no ones knows except the people doing the hiring

Makes me wonder if it's going to come out of left field, like the Schottenheimer hire did.

Not being snarky...and I realize you are saying what you are reading/hearing...but I thought they were to the point when they said they committed to the school and not the coach?

This has been my point all along. When major things change you cannot go by what a recruit or his family says until things settle down. If/when Smart makes a OC decision we will know and so will the Easons.

Those saying it would not matter for us to lose Bobo and Richt just shows that they don't understand what goes into a decision as to what school a kid goes to.
The most telling thing for me is that Tony Eason did not go to Florida. It tells me he is still wanting Georgia. Jacob is a kid and a kid can be swayed easily by promises and the heat of the moment. After the OC is announced...then watch the Easons. If dad goes to Florida for a visit, it means he is not sold on the OC decision. Tony has been very active in the process. Watch him, not Jacob.

I think the reason everyone is hanging onto every scrap of news is that there isn't time for this to happen. If their current timeline holds, the only possible time for them to visit would be Sunday night. Dead period begins Monday morning.

In that scenario, cutting the UGA visit short would be much more damning than a Florida visit. If the Easons are not in Athens for the entirety of the Gala weekend, I think we can write him off. Going to UF instead would just be icing on the cake at that point.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Eason signing financial aid papers give UGA the ability to talk to him whenever they want, including dead period? I'm not fully aware on how this rule works..

Tony Eason basically came out and said that Jacob would be living across the country by himself and that he wanted him to go and see if he was comfortable being there on his own. He said there was nothing more to it than that; thus, I don't think his not being there is indicative of anything.

If there were more time, I would expect he'd make a trip down himself eventually. The way all this has happened didn't leave him much time to plan for that. The UF coaches will make their final push to the Eason's this week and then we'll see what happens.

Personally, I think Tony did a disservice to his son (and us) by letting him go on his own to UF, but not UGA. He gave UF a distinct advantage of being able to send Eason out on the town, getting drunk, getting laid (most likely)...things he probably didn't do much of in Athens. What 18 year-old kid wouldn't be sold on that?

Yes. No face to face contact though.

It affects UF more than us. If Eason wants to go to UF and his dad needs to be on board, as others have pointed out, they would not be able to visit after Sunday night.

The point is that if UF is going to get him, it will be at the expense of our Gala weekend. His presence there will be a great indicator for us, along with our progress with OC.

All that did happen when Eason was in town for Dawg Night this summer. I probably watched every girl in Silver Dollar go talk to him at some point and every guy buy him a drink.

I'm just ready for the OC hire. Waiting with baited breath.

The sooner the better, and I know Kirby knows that. I'd imagine there's a hire in the next, what, 2 days?

Need the new guy to get down to Athens, get his recruiting pitch in sync with Kirby and Co., and lock the fricker down.

And guess what? Not a single frickstick thought it'd be a good idea to video or snapchat the situation, either.

Ben Davis must be HUGE on CKS. If someone has pictures that have been retweed by Trent Smallwood or Radi or someone (I would but I post from my phone, mostly) but he's sporting tons of UGA stuff at practice, on his twitter page. I'm actually starting to believe there's a chance

Reggie Carter/Tim Kimbrough
Roquan Smith/Natrez Patrick
Ben Davis/Jaleel Laguins

Would that be the deepest MLB core we've possibly ever had?
