Oh no. You've jinxed us. That's Dallas' job. Now when Godwin flips I'm hunting you down instead of Bryan Allen.

Again, I have no idea why a kid would willingly want to go to Auburn. YOU ARE MAKING A STUPID, SHORT TERM DECISION! you have a golden ticket to go anywhere you wanna go and you go to a school where if you blow your knee out you might as well refer to your degree as toilet paper.

UGA has and will always treat their players like grown men with something to offer on the field and in life after football. What Auburn and Gus Malzahn stand for is pathetic and disgusting.

I don't like Auburn and I get that people are melting but that's ridiculous.

Trent Thompson just decommitted. Looks like he will be going to FSU.

just kidding, I gotta frick with you guys a little bit, cause its soooo serious in here, like a patty melt at the waffle house!

UGA will finish fine, any of these recruits whose heart isn't at UGA, then they need to find another school anyway.

Ball has always been known for hating the recruiting process

We do consistently swing and miss with our state's best high school receivers. This has been an issue for a long time save for AJ Green who irrationally loved UGA as a kid and not because of ball.

Also, guys tend to not progress under Ball and he makes it too difficult for guys to get in the game. Some teams may not have guys who run perfect routes or block that well but they NEED the ball. They're playmakers and they can move the chains. We need to have the mentality that if we have an athlete and he's a little unpolished we still need to sling it to them every once in a while.

I do agree that Ball may be hindering us a bit compared to other WR coaches at other schools based on recruiting.

But to think players don't progress under him is absurd. Ball gets a lot out of his players and has produced several successful receivers during his time here. Green, Durham, Conley, Bennett, Mitchell..the list goes on. He even made Wooten a pretty productive guy.

Guys tend not to progress under Ball? You can say he's bad at recruiting but this is just ignorant.

Everybody expects us to have an AJ Green type player every season. That's not going to happen. Those kind of players come around once every twenty years or more. Chris Conley was a very valuable receiver and I would be extremely satisfied if one of these recruits played like him.

This is the story if you want to believe it;

quote:

"Here's what went down: Several weeks ago Slayton's parents decided to get a divorce - this was AU's opening. Slayton's mom's side of the family are all huge AU fans as they had a relative play there. Darius grew up an AU fan for this reason. When it came to recruiting he preferred the plan that UGA had for him and his dad strongly preferred UGA. When he committed, things were locked in all the way around for UGA and Darius. After the news of his parents divorce reached coaches, it just so happened that AU had missed on all their top WR targets and they were desperate. Slayton's mom was immediately lined up with a job in Birmingham and Darius was presented with the choice of going to AU and taking care of her and his sister or sticking with UGA. His mom, sister and uncle worked him over harder than the AU coaches these last two weeks. Now you know what's been going on behind the scenes."

Out of curiosity...is it your opinion that melting down every time a recruit goes somewhere else elevates the program somehow?

Explain how that is mediocrity?

At one point we were talking about have the number one recruiting class. Now we will be lucky to finish in the tops ten. Losing longtime recruits at the last second hurts our program, no matter how you spin it.

So screaming and yelling makes us better?

Losing Slayton sucks, but we saw it coming from a mile away. I'm reserving my melt for when Roquan chooses UCLA.

Took the words out of my mouth. I was going to suggest we hold off on melting until we lost Roquan, which looks to be the case. Let’s let the day shake out and see where we’re stand. We will no longer close Top 3 like many predicted, but top 7 or 8 seems likely. Status quo? Maybe, but I try to be of the mindset, ti could always be worse.
