What's his deal on 247? Hopefully all Dawg and not a cowboy.

Some how he believed the bullshite that OSU was putting down about having a better chance to play in the NFL with them than us. Thankfully it took about 30 seconds to straighten that out.

Trent says not to worry about Godwin, he's all Georgia. They're apparently rooming together so I really like the sound of that.

Things are going to start picking up. I believe it’s the dead period, so most of these guys know we’re they’re going. We only have a few unknowns at this point.

--I think we’ll hear from Slayton today or tomorrow. This is the news I’m most interested in.

--It looks like Godwin is sticking, but we’ll know Wednesday at 6pm

--Rico looks to be all Dawg, but nothing is final yet

--Deandre Baker is still open to Texas and UGA.

--We don’t know if Kirby Choates received an offer. If he did, then he will be in the 2015 class

--Pat Allen looks to be leaning toward UGA, but he’ll announce on Wednesday at around 9 am

Let me preface this comment by saying that I think Godwin will definitely stick with UGA. That being said, I don't buy the roommate stuff: case in point, Tunsil and Kublanow had been planning on rooming for like a year and a half until NSD.

I'm not saying because they're roooming together that he stays, just that he and Trent are close. Anything can happen though.

From the AJC....in it's entirety for those who refuse to click an AJC link...

quote:

Kirby Choates, who take an official visit to UGA this weekend, will find out on Tuesday if he has a scholarship offer from the Bulldogs.

Choates is a 3-star safety from Tri-Cities High School who attracted late interest from UGA and other schools after improving his grades.

If UGA offers Choates a scholarship, the lifelong Bulldog fan will accept it. He also has offers from Georgia Southern, UMass and Tennessee State, among others.

“It was a great visit to Georgia,” Choates told the AJC on Sunday night. “Everything went awesome. They treated me well.

“I will know Tuesday if I have a scholarship from Georgia.”

When asked what had to happen for him to get the UGA offer, Choates replied, “Just make sure you guy are at my high school later this week. It’s worth the wait with Georgia. I don’t have a problem with this. I will know Tuesday. That’s my dream school. If they offer me, then I’m going to Georgia.”

Choates took official visits to Tennessee State, UMass and Georgia Southern. There’s also another school trying to get into the mix.

“Louisville called me before I went to UGA to see if I could do an official there rather than Georgia,” Choates said. “They were going to offer me a scholarship. I told them that I was taking my official to UGA, and they understood. They said the offer stands on the table.”

Apparently, UGA has other targets, such as DeAndre Baker and Terry Godwin, holding scholarship offers, and the Bulldogs will wait to see what they do before promise anything to Coates.

Kid sounds like a DGD, hopefully his dream will come true...

If we keep Baker, Slayton & Godwin on board...

And sign Smith, Rico, Allen and/or Buchanan & Choates we should finish 4th...

No one will pass Bama, USC or FSU...

ETA:... if tenn. flips Richmond & keeps Bussey from flipping they might finish 4th...

Dallas,

That is a very good article on Eason. It is nice to know he is holding up his commitment. He sounds like a great young man and has a good head on his shoulders.

Q&A with Terry Godwin:
What would your message be to Georgia fans?

"Don't be nervous because I am still 100% committed to Georgia."

I don't like the Stafford comparison. First off, if the evaluations are true of Eason and he can throw with touch, he is already better than Stafford at that point in Staffords career. Stafford couldn't throw with touch his freshman year in Athens.

Also, Stafford had a rare gift of arm strength that is truly unseen. In the tapes I've seen of Eason, I don't think he throws as hard as Stafford but that might not be a bad thing.

I'd argue that he couldn't throw with touch any of his time in Athens. Dude threw 100 mph fastballs all day long.
