Van has said repeatedly he wants to be featured in a passing offense. OU gives him that, and we don't. I guess he had no relationship with the receivers coach though because he just left for Texas. If you're going to decommit from a school, I feel like you should at least have a somewhat decent relationship with your position coach.

Eta: Can we delete this and give it to Dallas? I had no idea this was 8000.

So there is a thread about Donte and Roquan over on 247 by a poster that knows someone that 'claims' to be close to Smith. I call BS. Same poster said it was going to be Bloomgren and Weinke.
Tally...shoot me a link please, I'd like to read that...TIA...

We'll never have huge passing numbers, but Georgia has gotten more yardage from passing almost every season under Richt. I did the numbers a few years ago and it was mostly 55 - 60% passing yardage to the best of my recollection. Last year was an aberration for obvious reasons. Next season may be too, but I don't think we're turning back the clock to the Vince Dooley era.

Jefferson would have probably redshirted at UGA. By the time he could have been expected to be a starter, I think UGA will have a strong passing game.

Anonymous message board sources are useless. That said, the fact that Jackson is announcing before his LSU visit doesn't bode well for UGA IMO.

I'm calling BS on that one. There are a few guys that have definite inside info on 24/7. I don't think I've seen anything factual from that guy.

Thanks, I'd read that earlier but before that guy posted that. Like Tally said guy has 45 posts & was wrong about his "guys" info on Bloomgren & Weinke. Amazing how some ran with it tho....

This happened to us earlier in the year. McFadden was set to make an announcement just prior to a visit to UGA. Most thought (myself included), visiting UGA after you choose FSU wouldn't really bode well would it?

He chose FSU, and "rescheduled" his trip to Athens.

Someone anchored the Donte Jackson thread on the SEC recruiting board. LSU admins must be getting worried...

The fact that Jackson scheduled the announcement before his final visit to either school, to take place after visiting only one of the two, suggests he was already pretty certain. If we really gave him something to think about, I'd expect him to move his announcement back until after the LSU visit. Then he could say he gave the local team full consideration before making his choice. It's hard to know what recruits think, but that seems logical to me.

I'd absolutely be selling Jefferson on Eason, but Riley can sell Jefferson on ECU's passing offense including guys like Justin Hardy and Isaiah Jones who have been good receivers for ECU. I don't think it would be smart from an NFL stand point for Jefferson to go to OU, but if he wants to go to an offense that passes the ball more often than not, he'll end up at OU.

I would rather VJ jump ship now, instead of transferring 1 year in.

Really wish we would offer Brad Stewart now that it sounds like Van is out. Stewart has great hands, athletic ability, just not elite speed but regardless I think he will be a big time role receiver on someone's team.
