Well, hell, Ray Goff once brought in the #1 recruiting class in the nation.
Posted on 5/30/13 at 6:46 pm to crispyUGA
Did Ray Goff ever get so butthurt that he told a kid going to Florida that he would "never reach his potential at UF?"

I'm just sayin' that sometimes retards luck out.

Oh, I'm not arguing with you. Just saying that this particular retard is an arse hole person. But then again, so are most of the Clemson fanbase

I'm not saying anything negative about CMR's recruiting, but I did take a look at the top 25 players in the state of Georgia for the last 4 years and where they signed. Out of the top 100 players in the state for those four years combined we signed around 26 depending on what service you use I guess. I used 247 bc they break it down by state. Is 26 out of 100 good or bad?

40% would be acceptable

That's misleading to me. Guys that are in the GA top 25 can't always play for UGA and a lot of the times we can get a better prospect somewhere else.

We know for a fact that we recruited the shat out of many of those kids. Seems like some team is always on our boarder and on a roll. Bama is the team dejour currently. With Clemson going Danny Ford cheating again it ain't getting easier.

That's our reality. What % of those kids should we be signing.

You've been stalking me for weeks, its expected. However, I will post the stats I have found state by state and it may take a lil longer, because I have to work for a living. These are the numbers of players from GA who will be on 2013 rosters of our neighboring schools starting with Alabama.
UA- 19 including 2 of our top 10 in state for 13.
AU- 24 including 2 of our top 10 in state for 13.
As a comparison, we only signed one of the top 10 players in GA this year.
Guess how many players we have from Alabama? None. Not one.
State of SC
Clemson- 17 players from GA in 13. 3 of top 10 in GA already committed for 14'.
USC- 25 players from GA in 13 with 1 top 10 guy.
How many do we have from SC? 3
I will do Florida in a little bit.

I'm not saying Richt doesn't recruit well. I was just posting something that I happen to notice.

Real quick though, what's the pooulation of each of the 3 states listed and how many D1 players does each state put out though.
Posted on 5/31/13 at 11:53 am to Porter Osborne Jr
I see where you are going with that and it would be somewhat logical because we usually produce a state rank of 3 to 5 every year with CFB recruits. Neighboring states can pick several of our guys up and we wouldn't miss a beat. On the other hand, since we are the dominant sports college in our state, sharing few with GT, we should also rank along those lines with our recruiting. We have lost the recruiting battle to Auburn, Alabama, UF, FSU just about every year recently. The other states who produce as many top talented recruits as we do are California, Florida, Texas, and Ohio. I don't know the answer to why it is, but we must be doing something wrong. Its lose lose. If we don't recruit well, we wont win many, and if we don't win many, we won't recruit well.

We need to look at this more closely. I don't think we've lost the battle to each of them. More so that we're trying to fend off 8-10 other major programs and it's not possible to keep them all at bay. I've got some extra time on my hands so I "may" take a closer look at the numbers and see where we stack up.
