All the new Dawgs are set to be on campus on Monday except for John Atkins. Atkins is awaiting his new SAT and ACT scores and should hear something around June. If he gets the score he needs, he'll enroll for Summer II classes.

Martinez was at best a competent DB coach when that was all he had to do, but was one that was helped by a fantastic front 7 which is always key to secondary play.
The man can't watch film and scheme for shite though. I will never forget his years as a DC when UGA literally looked like it hadn't even bothered to watch film of the opponent on the field.
However, I will just sit and let the AUbies throw whatever money and pussy they can scrounge up to throw at him just to see him end up in Athens.

Given that that was 3 Safeties (Blue, Thomas Davis and Sean Jones), that's not that dazzling of a statistic... Only Jones was really decent in coverage.

Davis was probably the best out of all of them...I will say that we always had aggressive, hard-hitting safeties that could punish receivers coming across the middle under Martinez and it was fun to watch. They also rarely wrapped up on a tackle, but they could lay the wood.

Overall, Davis was certainly the best. Jones would've gone down as the better Safety IMO had he stayed his Sr year (and the 2004 team could have been straight disgusting). But as SoGa said, we had such great hard hitting safeties in part because fo a strong front 7 that freed them up to kill WR's coming across the middle

I am a terrible poster because I think Martinez is terrible coach and I don't agree with auburn fans. I will take that as a compliment If you are here looking for someone to blow sunshine up your arse, then you are clearly in the wrong thread.

No not at all. It's your constant flaming way of sharing your opinion, but whatever makes you feel better about that cupcake. I don't need sunshine and I definitely wouldn't look for it from an opposing fan. Yeah you really aren't the sharpest one who came over, but you have added to the numbers.

No hata I don't think anything yet on Martinez because I have heard conflicting reports on him. My excitement is for BVG and along with that I have to trust his choice on assistants.

I couldn't agree more that is a big worry for me, but oh well maybe he can at least get us in the right direction.

Look at the subject title.....see where it says UGA. I watched Martinez's secondaries every game of the season for 9 years. I was one of the fans that thought he should have been removed years before he was and I was not in the minority. If my opinion on him means I am unintelligent then so be it but it seems to me that most auburn fans are wanting UGA fans and OU fans to tell them he is a good coach so they will not feel so uneasy about a bad hire. Well you are going to be waiting for a long time. I will not be surprised if your pass defense is ranked 70 or lower. Don't believe us then go ask OU fans. There is a reason they nick named him 3rd and dust.

I appreciate that and anyone who loves football has to love the passion Grantham brings to a D.
Look I don't mind criticism or an objective opinion of one of our coaches or players. I just think being so inflammatory about it every time that opinion is shared gets old. Especially on the recruiting thread. I know most of us playfully throw digs here and there, but full flame attempts should stay on the SECr. Anyway, I really have no beefs with UGA fans until game week.

Yes we have in a random thread and I understand that but this is a UGA Recruiting thread. You cant tell me that posting an insider article from an Auburn site about Tray was not a jab to try and stir things up. What they didn't tell you is that it is going around that he was talking with Foster about Georgia and in a couple of weeks he is suppose to take another visit and he is bringing someone with him.

Also it is not a full retard flame it is my opinion on Martinez coaching DBs down.Its also my opinion that not a lot of top talent is going to want to be coached by him with his track record of which is very well known in the state of Georgia. Which is where the recruits we are discussing are from. Just look at some of Grantham and Lakatos's comments when they took over at UGA. Also like I said before this is a UGA thread, for UGA fans to discuss UGA recruiting.
