I'm actually sort of relieved it happened Game 1. It doesn't leave any ambiguity for what's next. We are hiring a new coach in November.

Word. No half season of hope of maybe it'll be different this year.

Same. My wife said 25 year old me would have been losing it. I just sat on the couch in disbelief as I saw the train wreck unfold

Hah, I had a similar experience. Throughout the game, I was texting back and forth with a VTech friend. Late in the 4th when they cut it to 6, I told him "I'm so relieved I'm no longer 20 years old when football deeply affected my emotional state. I'd be on suicide watch tonight."

I'll follow the stats and probably watch a game or two, but I think I've got better things to do with most of my Saturdays.

I really understand and relate to all the posts over the years by long time fans saying they're used to it. Which is sad but also probably better for my health

When I was in school, I was so distraught over one of our losses to Tech that I passed up a party that three different girls called and begged me to come to. So, not only sure-fire poontang, but my CHOICE of poontang, and possibly more than one. I just sat at home and moped instead. Unbelievable.

Even early in my marriage Aggie defeats would lead to arguments with my wife. I'd just become pissed off and irrational and take offense at anything.

Now though?

Last night I went to bed sober, read a few chapters from a book, and fell asleep. Soon I'll take my daughter for a walk. Sumlin and Age have both combined to where I just care way, way less than I ever imagined I could.
