I think you see the defense play better than expected this year. One thing I am wondering though, is Elko really gonna let BDP coach the linebackers? He was at LSU at different times in different capacities, including coaching LBs recently, and he was AWFUL. Hell of a recruiter though, but damn I hope for your teams sake that is all they let him do. He is a liability to the lb's and special teams, I can promise you that.

I wouldn't say our LB play under Chavis, who was responsible for coaching the position, was anything to really brag about. Some of that had to do with the DL not being able to keep the OL off them, so they could run and make a play, though.

But I saw way too many instances where our LBs did not seem to be maintaining proper gap responsibilities. If Elko/Peveto can correct that, but nothing else, then this would represent some improvement.

Is there a roster update anywhere?

The only update I've seen is that Kingsley Keke will wear #8 this season instead of 88.

Supposedly Michael Clemons was seriously injured in practice and Keke may have to slide over to DE as a result.

Jimbo said it’s a foot injury and may require a screw. Will miss remainder of camp plus more.

Micheal has a foot that’s injured right now,” Fisher said after the third practice of August camp. “He’s got a little bone out there. We might have to go in and put a screw in it. He might be out for a little bit of time ... We have contingency plans for different packages anyway. And Clemons will be back decently soon, I think. I can’t put a time on it. I’m not a doctor.

So with Clemons now out for a while, will our starting defensive line be:

Keke | Mack? | Madubuike | Durham

Or maybe not Mack, but someone else?

Keke and Durham can't play every snap, will be interesting to see who rotates in behind them to help carry the load.

one of the Tyree's, i think wilson, has an exceptional first step and is supposed to be our pass rush specialist. we likely arent going to be able to get after the QB like we did with chavis

We’re not going to be able to start 3 DTs

I would think Durham, Keke, Mack or Diallo, & the winner of Wilson, Brown, & maybe even Horry.

Sucks for him, but I doubt he was in the running for actual PT.

nothing shocking, but was reading a Q&A with passwaters on rivals and thought this was refreshing.
