Now, we do not have to hear either side claim who ducked who anymore; what is the most essential aspect of the game?

To me, all eyes will be on the game, showing how big football and college sports are to Texans.

Well anyone with a brain knows they have ducked A&M and done nothing but lie about it while they won 60% of there games…

But the game is necessary now for recruiting I guess.

I’m looking forward to having this game without the refs actively trying to help them win.

I am in WillCo and have not heard much about the game yet, which is why I made the thread. I am guessing next week, the heat will be at nuclear levels.

One day, I'm unsure when I could, but I would like to see this game @ Kyle Field. I have been to games there before, such as Arkansas, Mizzou in 93 that was the game where Aggy put up 70 plus, and Southern in 89 or so

I was at A&M for the 5 seasons 1975-1979. Beat ‘em 3 out of 5. Great memories. ‘75 game was on T+1. Absolutely nuts atmosphere. That ‘75 defense was really something, and they were on fire that day.

Were those the strange stripes on shoulders and white helmet teams with Curtis Dickey?

I went to the '05 game. Ags got close to spoiling their natty season and the biggest CFB matchup in a long time despite having a very disappointing season that exposed Franchione. I'd been to plenty games at Kyle before then, but that was on a whole other level of gameday atmospheres.

The state of Texas needs a rivalry game that at least approaches the Iron Bowl in terms of national importance, but I don't know if it will even happen annually moving forward.

Yes Sir. But Curtis’s first year was the ‘76 season. My senior year in high school in Victoria, our opening basketball game in Fall ‘74 was @ Brian High. I was going to have to guard Curtis, but because Brian football made the playoffs, he didn’t even play. Which was a very positive thing for me and my self-esteem.
