I wish I could have the same faith (you know how optimistic I am by default), but:

--we have no OC

--kyler has shown little ability to perform at this level, behind this line, in this conference

--defenses in general (and SEC defenses in particular) are less susceptible to a hypermobile QB than a few short years ago. Especially one who has yet to prove he can hurt you with his arm as much as his legs.

I don't think he's ready for 11 wins, but I believe he can get us 9 and with a little luck 10

All the complaining about Kyler not being ready might be a moot point, I'm hearing rumors that he too is thinking about transferring.

Sumlin really should be let go. I don't know of any coaches that have lost 59-0 and have come back to win anything of significance at that school. But since we gave him a sweet arse contract we are stuck for the foreseeable future, I imagine, with a ship that is taking on more water by the minute.

We could pull an LSU/Jimbo move and try our hand at looking like dumbasses also.

Thanks, dick. I had just gotten over that now I'm being flooded with emotions again.

No. He needs arm strength and size that he simply isn't blessed with. Reality is he's 5'8, probably 160-165 pounds, and his accuracy and velocity both plummet when he has to throw the ball more than 20 or 25 yards downfield, especially if he's going to the sidelines.

He does not have the physical gifts to be a QB in the SEC. If he wants to try his hand at being Darron Sproles 2.0, go for it, but he isn't a viable QB right now.

As a disclaimer, if Kyler gets on roids and in 9 months shows up to camp at 190, all bets are off.

Apparently Sumlin reopened QB competition, which caused Allen to bolt. Staff seems to believe in Kyler more than Allen, I'm fine rolling with Kyler. Both QBs have their flaws but I have always felt Kyler has more upside and we need a DT QB not a pocket passer.

I would too. This is textbook destroying QB confidence. Its almost like Sumlin and Spav realized they hadn't completely shattered Allen during the regular season, so they decided to try for round two. Allen is just seeing the light here.

Healthy Allen was better than Murray and it wasn't close. A DT QB wasn't what we needed. A QB who makes good decisions was. Allen had that in spades. Murray does not.

Kyler is...fricking....DEMONSTRABLY not ready to start at the college level. He has the up side, but he is still raw. Not nearly as ready as JFF when he started.

That's the only problem I have with all of this.

But you are comparing apples and oranges

Kyle had game experience and all the time with the 1's

Kyler was a kid straight out of school

TBD. Everyone seems to be forgetting that after Spring '12, the consensus starter was Showers. A lot can happen between now and September.

Sarge do you think his arm strength is going to double over the off season? You haven't addressed that huge deficiency in his game/ability. The kid simply can't throw a deep ball.
