Who knows more about this situation?
LSU insiders who’ve been covering it for months or a TAMU insider who hadn’t heard of Robinson till yesterday?
Sure - because LSU wouldn't have any reason to lie about this. We already know they're willing to lie, as they did after 74-72.

I am not sure why you continue to take everything Liucci says as pure fact. Just because Robinson was on his way out at LSU doesn’t make him a bad hire for us

So much BAS on this site.
I don't take everything he says as pure fact, nor do I assume that just because LSU fans are saying that this guy was being forced out, that it's true that he was being forced out.
LSU fans were also saying that A&M had no chance on McKinnley Jackson, and some of the posters on this very thread were mocking TexAgs for saying we had a chance with Jackson. So, I'm NOT claiming that it's a fact that Robinson wasn't being forced out, I'm simply not accepting it as fact that he was.

I still don’t totally understand what this BAS is. I don’t know if you’re saying I have it, or what that means, nor do I really care
Robinson has been rumored to be leaving LSU for a while if it had been followed, to USC and I also saw him connected to the Panthers per an Athletic report. Position coaches leave schools for various reasons all the time, we’ve had plenty of our own leave. I don’t see why it’s a big deal. I don’t think anyone knows the exact reason why he was leaving and it really doesn’t matter.
Liucci phrases shite like that to rile up his subscriber base because it fits their narrative.
Robinson has been a very good recruiter in the past and I think it could be a nice hire

I'm not saying that he hasn't been looking to leave. But him looking to leave is NOT the same as him being forced out. LSU fans are saying he was forced out. It's just as likely that he's been rumored to leave because he was unhappy working for Ed.

LSU fans shite all over Peveto (and still do) and I thought he did great as our LB coach. He was as advertised as a recruiter and I think play on the field was better too. I don’t know why he left and I like the replacement though. I only bring that up because it seems like a similar situation as this.
Very possible

Peveto is back at Ole Miss? That's where he was when we hired him.

My bad I mixed up him and Finley. I don’t know where he landed if anywhere. Just saying it seems like a similar situation where both parties thought it may be a better fit to move on

The Peveto deal is a little weird. I don't think he's anywhere right now. I think Elko wanted to bring his guy in.
As for Finley, word is he had some buddies on the Ole Miss staff who he wanted to join. He seemed to do a good job, but we got a definite upgrade there. Graham finally accepted a job at his alma mater, but we tried to keep him. (They nearly got him last year.)

I haven’t been all that impressed with Graham and was fine with him leaving. He hasn’t lived up to the hype as a recruiter IMO. Coley was a home run, I was fairly concerned about losing Finley.
I like what I’ve read about Rushing and Santucci even if they’re largely unproven at this level. Both seem to have the Elijah Robinson up and comer in them.
I am hoping we can have more continuity after next year. Henson is the biggest question mark on staff for me, and it seems like Elko and Elijah Robinson will eventually be moving on to bigger roles elsewhere.

lets get this thread back to what really matters. LSU is hiring a liar and an assaulter to replace robinson. pretty on character, imo

Agree 100%
and S knows darn well any other team board would have kicked his arse out for that smartassery.
But we are a tolerant group here for the most part, if I were an admin I’d delete his post and issue a stern warning since in general he’s been ok

Peveto had slipped a bit in regards to recruiting lb's for LSU. Aranda had to restock the lb corps. My take on it is this. Sometimes assistant coaches don't fit with the head coach. Sometimes the messages get old. Sometimes it's just better to get a new fresh guy with a different voice. More times than not it's a win, win for both parties. As you well know, assistants moving is a very fluid situation.
IMO, I think Jimbo wanted to hire Robinson to have access to more Louisiana schools. That's a pretty common occurrence amongst college coaches.
