Here's some quick math:

Arizona held SCSU to 154 TOTAL yards of offense (89 passing, 65 rushing) while only sacking the QB once.

They had 6 total TFL and forced ONE turnover (interception).

They had 366 yards passing and 323 yards rushing.

They forced 10 punts.

It's possible that the game might be 28-0 before JFF even sees the field.

Agree, and Zona is decent this year, but I think this is the week where KK and KS really try and get JFF to work on progressing through his reads and staying in the pocket. I think the OL should be able to give him the time to do this more than they did with UF and SMU, also the WR's should be able to get some better separation to give Johnny better looks as well.

ETA: I think Harris gets a punt return for TD this week too. (After being taken down by the SMU punter)

I really hate games like this. The good is we get to practice our offense in a game environment but it's pretty boring really. Think we may see both Showers and Joeckel get a quarter though

I expect Johnny to leave the game at halftime, Showers to play the 3rd, and Joeckel the 4th.

Afterwards I expect a full blown QB controversy over on the zoo.

shite:

Manziel might have 500 yards of offense at halftime.

Arizona only scored 28 points in the first half.

Of course not, with more than 8 pass attempts Showers will become the darling of the Showerheads so far, and then probably pull some who are sitting on the fence.

If JFF completed 100% of his passes, this would still happen.

It was Bi-polar Saturday, funny to watch, reminds me of the guy behind me in 210 who for the last 15 years has always been screaming to put in the back up regardless of how well the Starter is playing. He did it last year against Baylor in the First Quarter.

I just hope that no one gets upset if we "run up the score"

You think we will be calling run plays like Sherman did when the backups were in the game? Hell no. Showers and Joeckel will get some good PT.

If the offense we had in the 2nd quarter starts off in the 1st quarter, it may be Savannah State/Oklahoma State all over again.

Biggest thing I want to see is for them to come out and play like that second half team right away. No excuse for a slow start this week. Hope JFF figures out some of the passing wrinkles against the slowest team he'll play all year as well.

I wonder if they end up going to a running clock like FSU did with Savannah?

I hope Sumlin runs the score up, it's been too long since we've had a cut throat football coach. I was really impressed with how he got into kids faces during the SMU game even when we were whipping their arse. Coaching on the go, I like it.

I want to see 60+ to no more than a FG. Johnny can easily throw for 300+ in the first half with the kind of time he should be getting. I am also hoping to see a couple of defensive and special teams scores to get those guys confidence going.

I would like to see them throw deep early and often. Why? I want other teams to see that game film and feel like they have to respect our deep passing. Once a team starts worrying about the deep ball against us it's over, Manziel will crush them.

The best thing about the way this team is built is they shouldn't ever lose any games against truly inferior competition. The offense is simply too high powered and talented, they can just out athlete other teams. Back in the RC days we lost a lot of games to teams we had no business losing to because our offense was so vanilla and really ball control oriented. With that offense if you have a few turnovers things can go South quickly. With this type of offense even if you get behind you can score 35 points in a quarter if you have to and at some point the athletes will break loose on a subpar team.
