My opinion hasn't changed since around the 10th incomplete pass Allen threw last year against OM and all that followed, Sumlin may make a pretty good mid major coach but against the SEC West he's never going to compete for a championship. Hopefully LSU delivers the death blow but I'm still sceptical.

I can accept losing to good teams, but not two shitty Mississippi schools from shitty Mississippi.
Fire Sumlin.

If we hired Les Miles, I would never watch another Aggie football game again. Dude sucks.

If we keep Fat Kevin, you will?

You do realize hiring Les is a rinse and repeat process of everything we have done since RC was let go?

Only twice in the history of A&M football have we hired a head coach with a national championship under his belt at a previous school.
Bear Bryant (Kentucky)
Jackie Sherrill (Pitt)
We went from:
"Only won 1 conference championship (Franchione)"
to "Never won a conference championship in college (Sherman)"
to "Never won a championship of any kind (Sumlin)"

Les is a good coach, but he is just a better version of RC Slocum.
I'd take him over Sumlin but we can do better.

In that case, let's get Bobby Bowden or Steve Spurrier out of retirement.
Just because they have a national championship under their belt doesn't mean they aren't past their prime. Les has seen his better coaching days.
(Also, I don't think either of those coaches won a championship before they got to A&M...unless you want to discredit Hershel Walker's 1980 Georgia...don't even try to)

Bear Bryant won the 1950 title at Kentucky. The polls gave Oklahoma the title BEFORE the bowls and Kentucky beat them in the bowl.
I was wrong about Jackie though. Pitt won the title the year before he became head coach.

The only difference between Slocum's 1999-2002 record and Sumlin's 2013-2016 record is inferior opponents in bowl games on Sumlin's part.
Miles' WORST season at LSU is Sumlin's average.
RC was 58 when fired. Sumlin is 52. Les Miles is 63. No, the record is NOT the only difference.

Now you're just speculating on who would have won the national championship if they had held the final polls AFTER the bowls.
If you really want to argue hypotheticals, then the final #1 would have likely been Tennessee. Their only loss was an early season loss to Mississippi State. They beat Kentucky late in the year and then beat Texas in their bowl.
