Hamm says he is on commit watch.

quote:

What wasn’t supposed to be an event at all turned into quite the occasion on Friday night as the Aggies hosted the majority of their 2019 commits as well as a number of high priority remaining targets in this upcoming class along with elite 2020 prospects.

Don’t be surprised to see Jeffrey Carter shut things down today before he leaves town. As I first reported last night, the Aggies were able to keep the four-star DB in town overnight with his father and they are not planning on being in Norman today from what I’m told this morning.

I wrote on Friday that Carter’s parents want their son in Aggieland and have full faith in Jimbo Fisher with his future. I’m told Carter is supposed to link up with a few of the players this morning to hang out at Jordan Moore and Leon O’Neal’s apartment. I believe Carter will meet with the staff one more time before leaving.

Speaking of Moore and O’Neal, they hosted Kenyon Jackson, Bobby Wolfe, Brian Williams, Demani Richardson and Dwight McGlothern last night.

McGlothern is very close with O’Neal and Moore and is up in College Station almost every weekend. I’m told he’s still not close to shutting things down but the Aggies hold a solid lead over the competition.

To be honest, and we’ve been predicting this for a while (Carter has been going back and forth), but I believe A&M will land every priority 2019 target that visited yesterday sans Ainias Smith. Before I go further, A&M REALLY likes Smith and are still considering taking him as an athlete but the numbers crunch makes it difficult to project. However, Stripling, Ugwoegbu, Carter and Wydermyer are highly likely to ink with the Aggies.

Carter can be a bit of a wildcard as we’ve seen but having both parents in A&M’s corner has me confident once again that he ends up pledging for the maroon and white.

As for the high profile 2020 running back Zach Evans, just getting him in town with his brother, who is leading his recruitment, was a big win for Jimbo and his staff. Look, this is a recruitment that won’t end until signing day 2020 so there’s no big news that will surface from his visit but I’ve maintained that a lot of people close to the 5-star RB feel Fisher’s offense best suits his game. Plus, Peveto has been extremely successful at North Shore and has the recruiting ability to get the Aggies over the hump finally at the Houston-area powerhouse program. Not to mention, Jay Graham is an extremely underrated recruiter.

Marcus Stripling also stayed the night and really had a great time bonding with the other commitments and players. Again, I still feel this one is a matter of time. He just wants to go through the process and take his visits before going public.

Rodas Johnson was supposed to be brought up to campus by Rokaine Simon of Fast 7 Houston but the highly touted trainer was ill so he couldn’t make it to town. That’s also why Marcel Brooks didn’t have transportation. He obviously spent a lot of time with Elijah Robinson and Terry Price. He wasn’t offered yesterday but he’s a player A&M will continue to recruit and monitor.

We’ll be getting with 2020 FL offensive lineman Marcus Dumerville, who left with an offer from A&M yesterday, later this weekend. Heard good things about his visit.

Finally, I really like where A&M stands with Newton DE James Sylvester. The A&M staff has prioritized him early and I’m hearing the Ags have put themselves in the driver’s seat early.

247 posted pretty much the same news on Carter, said a commit wouldn’t be out of question.

the OU 247 guy is saying the same stuff as well

quote:

As a matter of fact, sources I spoke with say there is a real possibility that Carter COULD commit to A&M very soon, now.

quote:

I will stay on top of it, but I don’t expect anyone around Norman feels good about Carter making it To ChampUBBQ. Add the fact his dad wants him in College Station and you can see how and why this has played out this way, if it stays the same.

Also I am inappropriately erect when it comes to our likely DB class. Plus McGlothern for next year

Seems like he’s been visiting a lot of other places and there’s been a lot of OU buzz around him for a while

What's up with Dylan Wright? Was he at the pool party? Aggies need a #1 strong WR.

247 said he wasn’t going to be able to make it, but sounds like A&M is still the leader.

From committing to OU to not even visiting. Jimbo is doing work.

Also I did say “frick that” so I probably deserve equal credit.
