5* OT Kenyon Green is at Aggieland today making an unofficial visit, apparently brought his whole family with him. Good to get him back on campus again, as a few tu insiders felt they had gained some momentum after an unofficial to Austin.

Mowry is a great add. Certainly seems like Green will be joining the fold fairly soon. Stripling seems to be a heavy lean also and I think is close with Mowry

Texas A&M: VIP recruiting notes at every position, top targets A

Brian Perroni

Texas A&M currently has the No. 4 overall class in the country and the Aggies still have very good shots at some very highly-ranked prospects.

This past weekend's visit went very well with the state's No. 1 player, five-star Atascocita offensive tackle Kenyon Green. It was big to get him back on campus after recently seeing Texas and the Aggies look to have more of a hold on the frontrunner spot than before the visit. From talking to numerous people, it sounds like it couldn't have gone much better, with the exception of a commitment. Green was not planning to commit but the possibility was still there. I think he will take a few visits but I still see him, and Javonne Shepherd as well, ending up with the Aggies before too long.

-A&M picked up a big commitment over the weekend from Katy Taylor four-star defensive end Braedon Mowry. Oklahoma was up there but Mowry loved A&M as a program and school so, once he gelled with the new staff – and A&M kept his position coach – he knew he wanted to be an Aggie. Max Wright was a huge factor with him, always in his ear about A&M. The fact that he shut things down without taking any other visits is telling and he says he is done with the process and does not plan to take other visits.

Mowry’s pledge will also likely help with Katy Mayde Creek defensive end Marcus Stripling. They are close friends and both of them were high on both A&M and Oklahoma. Stripling is officially visiting OU this coming weekend – which will be a huge one for the Sooners – and you can expect them to roll out the red carpet. Still, A&M has been in good standing for a long time and having Mowry only helps the Aggies’ chances. I believe he will end up in Maroon and White as well.

-The other big in-state defensive line target is Converse Judson’s DeMarvin Leal. The 6-foot-4, 280-pounder has seemingly become a very personal target for Tim Brewster and A&M and Texas are the main two schools after him.

Leal had a very good unofficial visit to Texas recently but he will be in College Station this coming weekend, for what will actually be an official visit. It is huge to get him back on campus and also big that Brewster has taken that recruitment to heart as such an important one. The family really likes the Aggie tight end coach and A&M wants him to play defensive end, which is his preferred position.

-At quarterback, it is still anybody’s guess what happens with this class. Grant Gunnell is still a possibility, albeit a very remote one. The Aggies also offered Jayden Daniels this past week and, the deep quarterback pool out West could help A&M’s chances there. He is teammates with 2018 Aggie signee Jeremiah Martin.

Still, I expect Darrell Dickey to be all over the state and country once the quiet period ends and coaches are allowed on the road.

-With Klein Collins running back Isaiah Spillerrecently decommitting from Oklahoma – which caught a lot of people very much offguard – the door is open for A&M to make a big impression on the Aggie legacy. He has long really liked A&M but wants to see how the team performs this coming year. He should not be considered a slam-dunk to A&M but this one is trending in the Aggies’ favor for sure. Also remember, he made the trip to A&M recently with Gunnell and the two are close.

Fellow running back King Doerue of Amarillo Tascosa is expected in Aggieland this coming weekend for the spring game. Thee recruiting process is all very new to him and his school has not had a ton of highly-recruited players so he is sort of taking everything in and figuring things out as he goes. He does really like the Aggies, though. As for the question if A&M would take two backs a year after signing four, I’m not sure there is an answer just yet.

-At wide receiver, both Theo Wease and Arjei Henderson are trending toward Oklahoma. I’m not sure they pull the trigger on their visits this upcoming weekend but I think they both end up in Norman when all is said and done.

A&M is still in good shape with Nnamdi Adim-Madumere and it will be interesting to see the top five of Kenyon Jackson out of Grayson, Ga., later this week. The 6-foot-5, 200-pound four-star is a big fan of Fisher and Co., who have done very well at Grayson over the years. It also wouldn’t be a surprise to see five-star Frank Ladson out of Florida officially visit at some point, though he should be considered a longshot.

Texas A&M: VIP recruiting notes at every position, top targets B

-At tight end, Baylor Cupp is by far the primary target for A&M and the Aggies still feel very good about their chances of landing him. Whether or not they would take a second tight end after that is still up in the air but, if they do, the one to watch is Jalen Wydermyer of Dickinson. Wydermyer does not plan to make a decision anytime soon.

-On the offensive line, A&M should land both Green and Shepherd at tackle. Branson Bragg is the top in-state interior target and will likely be in town for the spring game. Still, the Aggies are in a battle with Texas and Stanford for his services.

A&M made a huge impression on the Pensacola duo of Adrian Medley and Hunter Rayburn last week and the two will be back for official visits. Still, Clemson and Florida are the two schools to worry about, respectively, with the pair.

Trevor Roberson was on his official visit this past weekend and received a lot of individual attention from Fisher. It still looks like an A&M-Tech battle for the mammoth tackle’s services.

Jack Stewart from Connecticut is visiting later this week. A&M got in on him early and he has seen several big offers lately, including from Michigan this past week. Stewart always had a dream of playing football in the state of Texas and that certainly helps the Aggies’ chances but he will have his choice of a lot of schools across the country before too long. A&M really likes him.

-On the defensive line, Mowry and Josh Ellisonare committed and things look good with Stripling and decent with Leal.

One oft-forgotten player is David Ugwoegbu of Katy Seven Lakes. However, the ultra-athletic prospect is high on A&M and could easily end up being the main edge rusher in the class.

Jaquaze Sorrells of Florida recently spent two days in town and, right now, it looks like it is an A&M, Miami and Oregon battle for the four-star tackle. Tackle Gio Paez out of North Carolina plans to take an unofficial to A&M next month as well.

-Like with this past class, we will likely see a bunch of new linebacker targets from all across the country once coaches are on the road again. Five-star Brandon Smith from Virginia is still set to officially visit in a couple weeks but that will be a very tough pull.

He has not heard from A&M yet but Tyrone Brown (6-3/205) of Atascocita is an intriguing in-state prospect. He played safety for Beaumont Central as a junior and has recently been offered by Baylor, Houston and ULM.

Of the current out-of-state offers, those that have shown the most reciprocal interest are Smith, Spencer Lytle, Jaleel McRae, Kane Pattersonand JUCO prospect Lakia Henry. A&M has offered Detroit athlete Jaren Mangham, an Aggie legacy, at running back but he could end up at linebacker. Michigan State usually lands who it wants at Cass Tech and, though he has not lived in Michigan long, some expect Mangham to follow that pattern.

David Gbenda of Katy Cinco Ranch is also still on the board. Despite several big national offers lately, his main three are still A&M, TCU and Texas.

-At cornerback, A&M will host Spring Dekaney’s Marcus Banks at the end of the month on an official visit. He will also be in town this coming weekend for an unofficial. However, the main weekend to watch is his Texas official visit on May 4. The Longhorns have long felt confident about landing him.

I still believe A&M will land Aledo four-star cornerback Jeffery Carter but Oklahoma is not giving up on the former Sooner pledge. Former Aggie commit Bobby Wolfe is still high on A&M and I could see him ending up back in the fold. Erick Young is pretty much between A&M and OU and, right now, I would guess he is probably leaning toward the Sooners. However, he and Wolfe will both be in town on officials this coming weekend

We will see what happens with the WRs. I think it will be hard for OU to hold on to Bridges/Henderson/Wease through signing day.

A&M spring game visitor list is loaded (Two big names added)VIPBrian Perroni

Texas A&M is hosting an impressive group of prospects, both officially and unofficially, for the Maroon and White game this weekend.

Texas A&M holds its annual Maroon and White spring game this coming weekend and there will be a lot of talent in town. This list is by no means exhaustive and we will continue to add to it as we confirm unofficial visitors for the game. However, here are the players we have confirmed so far.

OFFICIAL VISITORS

-Dallas Bishop Dunne S Brian Williams(A&M commit): The five-star safety and No. 2 prospect in the state is rock solid to A&M and will be one of a few Aggie pledges on their official visits this weekend.

-Colleyville Heritage WR Kam Brown (A&M commit): Since making a commitment to the Aggies in early February, the speedy four-star wideout has been back numerous times and this weekend will be yet another. He is set to enroll in January.

-Houston St. Pius WR Chase Lane (A&M commit): The longtime Aggie pledge will be in College Station again this coming weekend.

-Dayton LB/DE RJ Orebo (A&M commit): Orebo has received some interest from other schools since committing but has told them all he is completely solid. He is also set to enroll early.

-Converse Judson DL DeMarvin Leal: It looks to be an A&M/Texas battle for the 6-foot-4, 280-pound four-star defender. It is huge to get him on campus this weekend and he recently had a very good unofficial visit to Austin.

-Houston Madison CB Bobby Wolfe: A one-time A&M pledge, the four-star cornerback has remained high on the Aggies and will take his first official visit to College Station. He is close with fellow four-star cornerback Young, who will also be there.

-Fort Bend Bush CB Erick Young: The four-star defender is very high on both A&M and Oklahoma so it’s a big deal that he will be in Aggieland instead of Norman as both have big visit weekends.

-Aledo CB Jeffery Carter: A former Oklahoma pledge, Carter really likes A&M and the Aggies will get the first official from the four-star prospect.

-Brooklyn (N.Y.) Canarsie DE Adisa Isaac:The 6-foot-5, 210-pound edge rusher from New York City has offers from all over the country and will take his first official visit to A&M.

UNOFFICIAL VISITORS

-Spring Dekaney CB Marcus Banks: The four-star cornerback will also be back in College Station the weekend of April 28 for an official visit.

-Crandall OL Branson Bragg: A&M’s top interior offensive line target in the state, the Aggies are in a battle with both Texas and Stanford.

-Amarillo Tascosa RB King Doerue: One of the more intriguing prospects in the state, Doerue has A&M as one of his top schools at the moment.

-Austin Bowie WR Elijah Higgins: Higgins has been to Aggieland several times and plans to be back this coming weekend. The four-star wideout has very good speed and provides serious mismatches.

-Gilbert (Ariz.) Higley ATH Ty Robinson:Likely a defensive end or tackle, the 6-foot-5, 260-pound four-star athlete has planned to be at A&M this coming weekend.

-Baton Rouge (La.) U-High ATH Christian Harris (Maybe): The 6-foot-1, 225-pound four-star prospect, who would likely play linebacker, is still listed as a ‘maybe.’

-2020 New Caney CB Dwight McGlothern:The four-star cornerback is becoming quite comfortable in College Station and, not surprisingly, will be back yet again.

-2020 Southlake Carroll CB RJ Mickens:The four-star corner and Aggie legacy has not been to College Station in some time but says he will likely be there for the spring game.

-2020 Hebron S Darius Snow: The nation’s top-ranked safety for the class of 2020, Snow plans to make his first visit to A&M since being offered.

-2020 Duncanville S Chris Thompson Jr.:The No. 2 safety in the country, Thompson was just at A&M this past weekend as well but plans to make another trip for the spring game.

-2020 Fort Bend Austin OL Kendal Septs:A&M recently became the first to offer Septs when he was in town for an unofficial visit and he will be back for the spring game.

-2020 Haynesville (La.) DT Camron Jackson: After spending last weekend in DFW for the Under Armour camp, the 6-foot-4, 273-pound four-star defender will return to the Lone Star State this coming weekend to visit A&M.

-2021 Katy Taylor OT Hayden Conner:Conner, who is one of four in-state freshman tackles with an A&M offer, will put some miles in this weekend. He is going to the Wisconsin spring game on Friday and then will be in College Station for the A&M one on Saturday

How does Jimbo usually fill out his class? Does he push for most of the class to be filled before the season starts, or does he make strong pushes after the season ends?

That would be nice, 247 said Green is a maybe to make it in this weekend because of the ACT.

Wease and Henderson recommitted to OU, I'm sure the staff will keep working them, but sounds like we might be moving on to other WR.

Will be interesting to see how the new Spring OV are going to play out, Clemson is apparently not doing any, and going to wait till Fall for all of theirs. We have a bunch of current commits doing theirs this weekend, seems like OU is also going all out his weekend.
