Do you think there's a chance that he doesn't stick? That video sure made me believe he was all Texas.

He's all Texas, as long as the brother is whispering in his ear.

Gunnell is coming for a practice visit tomorrow, and might be bringing Isaiah Spiller with him.

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but when Gunnell committed here wasn't Florida State the main competition when Jimbo was still there? You would think us hiring Jimbo would solidify him, but obviously the opposite happened.

i read something similar on another website. there was an FSU poster or an aggie poster with an FSU friend that posted about how great of a relatioship jimbo and grant had and how much jimbo thought of him yet we still got all the skeptics' posts about how grant was questioning whether he fit in jimbos system. gunnell's recruitment has never made sense to me

On Thursday, Texas A&M played host to quite a few top targets in the team’s last practice before the long Easter weekend. One of those was Houston St. Pius quarterback Grant Gunnell.

The nation’s No. 53 overall prospect and one-time Aggie pledge had a chance to take in practice and also watch his brother, redshirt freshman walk-on receiver Will Gunnell.

“It went well,” the 6-foot-6, 222-pound passer said. “It was pretty much a normal visit. I got to watch my brother practice and that was cool. That was a big reason for being up there.”

Gunnell was able to spend time with offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Darrell Dickey, though.

“I talked to coach Dickey and hung out with him at practice too,” Gunnell said. “I have a good relationship with him so it was good to see how he coaches the players.

“I watched the quarterbacks a bit. Nick Starkel looked really good and Kellen Mond had some good throws too.”

As for if the visit changed where the Aggies stood, either in a positive or negative way, Gunnell says that was not necessarily the case.

“It was a good visit but I’ve been to A&M so much that I know it so well,” he said. “It’s a school I really like and I’m considering for sure.”

Gunnell has taken recent visits to Ohio State and Oregon and has a couple other trips lined up in the near future as well.

“I’m going out to Cal for an unofficial visit [on April 14],” he said. “The other trip I have scheduled right now is an official to Arizona on April 21. (Former A&M offensive coordinator Noel) Mazzone is out there and I am going to visit there

exactly.

Sounds like he came to hang with his brother, and we talked him into to catching practice.

Anyone have Hamm’s update on Gunnell, interested to see how it differs from 247.

Basically said that Gunnell spent some one-on-one time with Coach Dickey and spent time meeting with Jimbo in his office. Says things are trending in the right direction but he's gonna take his time.

Wease and Henderson cancelled their visit, so it's obvious how things are trending with them.

247 said Wease and Henderson cancelled because of family conflicts, but plan to reschedule for a fall OV. I prefer them taking their A&M OV after their OU one, OU had already regained the momentum, worst that can happen is them re-commit during their OV to OU and never reschedule with us. And if they do re-commit I don’t think an OV to A&M this weekend would have changed anything.

We have offered a few OOS guys that all seem to be burners that can blow the top off defenses, that seems to be one thing the state is missing right now.
