I doubt Jimbo has said that. This staff keeps recruiting pretty close to the chest and I'm pretty sure Jimbo can't mention recruits by name at this point.

People are speculating he is still a top priority and drawing reasonable conclusions from the evidence, but Jimbo isn't saying shite

247 sports has him rated a 91 vs a composite of 95. If they up their ranking - he’s top 100.

Perroni: 4-star WR Arjei Henderson has three finalists, nearing decision

KATY, Texas - Fort Bend Travis four-star wide receiver Arjei Henderson holds just shy of 50 offers. However, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound junior recently narrowed his list to a final three of Alabama, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Henderson was in Aggieland late last month and is a big fan of the program and the direction it is headed. "A&M has always been A&M," he said. "The tradition at A&M, Jimbo Fisher, the new staff he has - coach Craig, it's all great." Henderson also likes what he sees from Alabama. "What is there not to like? They win and just the attitude they have over there," he said. "They've been doing a great job recruiting me this offseason - coach Saban, coach Pruitt and the rest of the staff over there.

"When you deal with a school like Bama, you get what you see. You get the things that you hear. I've been out there once but I haven't been out there since. The first time I was out there was at the end of my sophomore season. I took an unofficial out there and that was my first time seeing it." Henderson had originally committed to Oklahoma in the spring of his sophomore year and, though he has backed off the pledge since, the Sooners are still very much in it. "My first love," he said. "That's where I started this whole recruiting process. It'd be a great place to end it there, too."

When Henderson committed to Oklahoma, he did so at the same time as fellow receiver Theo Wease of Allen, the No. 30 overall player in the country. The two would still like to play together. "The percentage of us playing together are, if not the same, then stronger," Henderson said. "We've got that strong bond and we feel like we want to play together at the next level." Henderson hopes to make a commitment some time this spring or summer and plans to officially visit all three of his finalists before that. "My first official that I have set up now is set for Apr. 14 at Oklahoma," he said. "The official after that will be A&M and then Alabama. Those will all be in the spring.

"There's no set date (for a commitment). Just whenever I feel like it's ready, it's that time." Over the past two seasons, Henderson has 181 receptions for 2,569 yards and 32 touchdowns

You know what’s crazy. I can pop over to Shaggytexas. Read through their recruiting notes and then onto RC Didn’t Offer. If you filter through the typical butthurt (we must be cheating.., some of the same BS our fans do) and you can get better and more reliable- relevant issue than anything free on texags.

Love their melt over Richardson though

quote:

From horn247 last week

– I spoke with the father of 2019 DB target, Demani Richardson (Waxahachie, TX). Richardson was expected to be in Austin this past weekend for the Texas jr day. He did not make it. Richardson’s father said they had a basketball conflict but said they will absolutely reschedule the visit.

Richardson will take a return visit to Texas A&M this weekend.

Don’t panic just yet…

Texas A&M is definitely a threat right now. They’ve had Richardson on campus once already this month and Jimbo Fisher has been in communication with Demani’s father and they’re building a good relationship. But if Richardson holds off on a commitment and makes it down to Texas, I think that’s where Texas will be able to make up the ground. Richardson grew up a Texas fan.

quote:

Some melting there

-That's a kick in the balls. At least that means they're probably done at safety

-Everyone knew that Jimbo was gonna pull in a good first class to aggy, but this is more than a little odd feeling, don't ya think? It's still early in the process and things may normalize a bit, but still feels like something odd is happening.

-OMG our only commit is Justin Watkins and aggy is pulling all these good kids we're doomed (until Hobbs commits on April 7)

-isn’t it obvious? herman caught lightning in a bottle on the recruiting trail last cycle. it was a fluke and it’s not happening again. we’re $#@!ing doomed, dude, and jimbo is gonna make our lives hell for the next 10 goddamn years. it’s $#@!ing awful.

-We weren't struggling to even get guys to visit the camps this time last year. For Jimbo & Co. to come in and immediately have so much pull in the state, especially in the D/FW area, is unnerving and definitely not normal.

-So aggy is signing all the DBs who are scared to compete with the best DB class in the history of recruiting. Advantage, aggy.

Some of their posters are just too Homerish or retarded. Their top 2 commits were ranked 19/24. 1/3 for the safety position. Williams is 13. Ranked 2. But obviously higher overall. They said our two safeties wouldn’t hold a candle to their top 3 DBs. Lmao.

Look - they had a stellar DB recruiting class. But that’s a silly comment.

It is a stupid excuse. Bama, Ohio state and other schools have no issue getting top classes back to back every year

And remember when they accuse our AD of cheating, it is their basketball program that is directly implicated in the ongoing scandal rocking the sport.

Brian Perroni: Houston Opening: A&M recruiting news and notes

There were quite a few Texas A&M targets in action at the Houston Opening on Sunday and there was a lot of Aggie news to come out of the event.

Texas A&M is still in very good shape with five-star Atascocita offensive tackle Kenyon Green. The top 10 national prospect says he plans to officially visit A&M, Alabama and Oklahoma but it would not be a huge shock if the latter two trips did not happen. Even if they do, the Aggies still feel quite confident about him.

A&M's other big offensive tackle target in attendance was Javonne Shepherd of Houston North Forest. He was in Aggieland on Saturday and the coaches spent a lot time with him, including 20 or 30 minutes one-on-one with Jimbo Fisher. Shepherd and Green want to play at the same place in college and A&M looks like a good bet to land both. Some close to Shepherd believe it's going to be very hard for anybody to beat the Aggies with him.

Katy Mayde Creek defensive end Marcus Stripling had the best day of any defensive lineman in the one-on-ones. He came in at 6-foot-3, 265 pounds, which is only five more pounds than he weighed a year ago. He says A&M is recruiting him as a weakside defensive end. The Aggies made a huge impression on him at the Super Bowl Sunday event and it continued with his trip over the weekend. He will officially visit OU on Apr. 15 but that's the only one he has set up. He says it 'might be awhile' before he makes a commitment but the Aggies are in good shape there and feel pretty confident on him.

Four-star receiver Arjei Henderson of Fort Bend Travis has a final three of A&M, Alabama and Oklahoma and will officially visit all three this spring. OU is the only one set up right now, though, as he will be there for the spring game along with a number of other top prospects. The Sooners are also the main competition for A&M at this point. Oklahoma has made big strides with both Henderson and Theo Wease so it will be interesting to see the battle down the stretch for the pair of wideouts that want to play their college ball together.

A&M commit Chase Lane has put on over 10 pounds and grown an inch or so since a year ago as he came in at 6-foot, 184 pounds. He was recruiting for the Aggies all day.

Plano Prestonwood tight end Austin Stogner made an early commitment to Oklahoma but remains in contact with the A&M staff and plans to visit at some point.

Class of 2020 North Shore running back Zachary Evans had the highest SPARQ score at the event and he was in Aggieland on Saturday with several of his teammates. It has been 18 years since A&M signed a North Shore prospect but the 6-foot, 207-pound Evans is a player the Aggies have a very real shot with. He says he is growing more comfortable each time he visits campus. LSU and Texas are going to be the biggest competition there.

Spring Dekaney cornerback Marcus Banks, who earned an invitation to The Opening finals, showed up in an A&M sweatshirt but then the 6-foot, 166-pound cornerback put on Texas gloves for workouts. He was in College Station yesterday and really enjoys it but Texas feels pretty optimistic about eventually landing him.

Fellow cornerback Erick Young of Fort Bend Bush told people he recently came close to committing to LSU but then the Tigers stopped pursuing quite as hard. However, this is still likely an A&M/Oklahoma battle. Best friend and Aggie commit Bobby Wolfe is in his ear all the time and the two were again in College Station this past weekend. Young came in at 6-foot, 194 pounds on Sunday.

It is still very, very early for class of 2021 offensive tackle Reuben Fatheree of Richmond Foster but Jim Turner has made a big impression on the 6-foot-7, 285-pound freshman, who was in College Station on Saturday. Baylor has offered in basketball as well and Fatheree, whose dad is the head basketball coach at Foster and who is averaging a double-double, could attempt to play both sports in college.

A few prospects that did not end up making it on Sunday were A&M defensive tackle commit Josh Ellison, Seven Lakes defensive end David Ugwoegbu and class of 2020 North Forest receiver Demond Demas. All three were in Aggieland Saturday, though, and Fisher spent quite a bit of one-on-one time with Demas as well. Diknson tight end Jalen Wydermyer was also not there on Sunday and was at Houston on Saturday.

Now LSU doesn't seem to be in it. This class seems set on committing early and often compared to 2018.

Well if Beason ends up at LSU that should help on us on that front with Young. OU is the big threat now I think.

If OU lands Wease and Henderson I am not going to be a happy camper. I like them both a lot. I want them both to go along with Cam and Chase and call it a day at WR.

I am also really excited about our chances with Green & Shepherd. Potential bookends.
