Yep. He knows Corbin has that shite locked down for the next 2 years and wants to be RB 1 somewhere. Bye.

I think Strong and Corbin are different kinds of running backs. I'd put Strong, Jackson (if he stays at RB), Richardson, and Kibodi all in the same category of Keith Ford type running backs. I'm not surprised at least one is transferring.

In all honesty, we need around 10 more transfers. I would expect some news at WR, DB, and maybe OL or QB soon.

Maybe. Passwater apparently is saying there is about to be some processing done with this current class

looking at the roster, we still have so many OL and WR that were recruited by christensen and moorhead that havent even sniffed the 2 deep. id bet about half the attrition starts there

Makes me nervous processing much in the current class, as a lot of these guys are tight. Looking at the 2019 schedule, 2020 recruiting could be a challenge, as I don't see us turning the corner before 2020.

A&M recruiting services are not always the most objective, but the conventional wisdom is that the staff is going to doing a really strong job with the 2020 class.
The biggest challenge is going to come from the fact that we are going to be competing for some very highly rated guys (Demas, Evans, Hornsby) that the best teams in the nation will be after, guys that we historically have limited success landing. Fortunately, we'll have home-state advantage for most of them and Fisher has a nice track record of recruiting these types of players.

That's interesting. There are some out of state commits and lower rated Texas players that would seem the most likely to be processed, but they all happen to be at positions where we could use help based on what we already have in campus (WR, OL, DL).
It would be nice if there were some positions that we felt comfortable with the players we already have AND we had a surplus of commitments, but I don't really see anything that matches both parts.

I agree on OL, lots of dead weight there. But at receiver, the only current player that wouldn't surprise me as a transfer is Clyde Criss. Everyone else so far has made contributions at some point this season, even if the position group as a whole has been a little underwhelming. And I don't see any recruits in the 2019 class that are clearly good enough to push any of the current players out.
I do think eventually a couple will need to depart, perhaps Hezekiah but I think he's boys with Mond so he might be less inclined to leave on his own. If we find a better punt returner, there wouldn't be much reason to keep Roshauud Paul around. But someone has to step up there, which hasn't been the case so far.

I can count 15 potential transfers easily

I believe Montell is already gone, but good call on McZeal and Hansford. I was thinking of them more as TEs, but whatever position they play, yeah they should start looking for new teams.

Transfer candidates
QB: Starkel, Blumrick
RB: Strong, Kibodi
WR: Parker (gone), Chriss, Hansford, McZeal
OL: Anderson, Dietsch, Prater, McCollum
DL: Horry, Robinson, Clemons
DB: Reynolds, Morris, Renfro, Oliver (I just want the last two to leave)

Not sure McCollum would want to transfer, as he has been a decent utility lineman. I guess that depends on what the RS guys look like.
Why would Clemons transfer? He was going to start and got hurt. With Keke, Mack, and Durham gone, if Clemons is any good he should play next year.
I actually think Renfro should stay, wonder what he would look like at FS. As bad as Oliver has looked, it is hard to plan on multiple true fish starting corners.

The problem with Oliver seems to be that he has no spacial awareness. He is in position on a lot of plays but just can not make the play. Of course he gets smoked some as well. Is ball awareness/spacial awareness coachable?

Bobby Brown is the clear starter at SDE next season and Clemons really wasn't that good when he did play last year.

For 2020, I have a ton of confidence that our staff can recruit. I just don't see much team improvement next year on defense, if we aren't worse on defense Elko will have earned his paycheck. Losing some key defenders(Durham, Keke, Mack, Alaka, & Wilson), particularly up front. We are returning most of the secondary, but that isn't great news either.
With Georgia & Clemson on the schedule plus the SEC West, we will be very lucky to win 8 games next year imho. 2020 forward should be much better, but next year is going to be tough. Harder to recruit at an elite level if you aren't winning. If we win 9 next year, the sky is the limit going forward.

Bobby does look good, but he could easily out grow SDE, but between Bobby and Max Wright SDE should be fine. Leal might push one of those guys inside. I think Leal will be the best of the 3 sooner than later.
If Clemons is going to play it would probably have to be in Durham's spot, and I don't know if he has the athleticism (or if he is even good at football at all). So you maybe right. Wish he could play some vs. UAB, just so we could see if he has anything.

DL: Horry, Robinson, Clemons

DB: Reynolds, Morris, Renfro, Oliver (I just want the last two to leave)
