Howell on TA thinks we end up with Hunter instead of Stripling.. Hamm's confidence level in landing the following recruits is:

quote:

Derrick Hunter - 30%
Marquez Beason -40%
Marcus Stripling - 45%
Javonne Shepherd - 50%
Jalen Wydermyer - 60%
David Ugwoegbu - 80%
Nakobe Dean - 30%

I'll guess we close on Hunter, Wydermyer, Ugwoegbu and Beason (only if Wolfe bounces for Arizona or Arky)

Based on the Alabama guys on this board - Stripling isn't a take...they've got other guys higher rated. So are you saying the sooners have the upper hand?

Losing a defensive recruit to Kevin Sumlin is not a good look.

Some kids are born dumb. I wouldn’t worry about it too much if so. Even Nick Saban doesn’t bat 1.000 on recruiting.

Plenty of reasons you can lose a recruit.

LSU just lost Marcus Banks last night FWIW. He tweeted it out without talking to their staff, or letting ANYONE know he was leaning towards reevaluating.

Hamm reported that we may actually be back in it with Chris Steele.

Things are trending up with Beason.

Banks is back on the market.

I think we will be fine, and i'd rather sort bobby out now then run into trouble after he's here.

He's gone. He was high maintenance for sure, but he is physical and fast. If he ever matures, he will be good. Hopefully we get Banks.

Arizona...may still take the risk, though.

Of course Sumlin will. He desperately needs 4 star players now that people are asking why he isn't recruiting well. He'll take on the risk, even if it means losing him down the road (like the entire 2013(?) class).

Anything to keep throwing the Arizona donors off his overrated, liquored up stench.

To be fair, Louisville will too because Petrino knows he’s on the hot seat and native son Jeff Brohm is killing it at Purdue.

One upset isn't necessarily killing. They'll lose this weekend to MSU.

Purdue is light years ahead of where they were before they hired Brohm.

They have two good wins and three terrible loses. I'm not buying the hype, even if it's Purdue.

He will lose against Michigan State, Iowa and Wisconsin. 6-6 isn't killing it in my book.

You have to remember where Purdue was before Brohm showed up. Before he showed up, Purdue record was 9-39 since 2013, then he shows up and in his first season they make a bowl game and then in his second season he destroys Ohio State. Also, losing by four to the current Big Ten West leader Northwestern and by three to Missouri are not bad losses.

To be honest though, it doesn’t matter what you or I think about Brohm. Unless something drastic happens, Louisville are going to fire Petrino and go after Brohm this offseason.

And if you think Northwestern is a terrible loss then Michigan State has an even worse loss because Northwestern beat them by 10.
