Some smoke that WVU fell through. Could get interesting. Apparently WVU WAS the back up plan. Hard to imagine programs not jumping to hire Spav.

Oh wow Sumlin might have to actually fire him.

Did Dana get canned or was Dana looking for an OC?

Only if it's somewhere else.

So his new job has fallen through and the current choice facing Sumlin is fire him or demote him. He won't be calling plays next year as the donors have made it clear Sumlin will be dragged through the mud and ultimately canned if that happens but he really doesn't want to leave his friend unemployed.
The program is a Mickey Mouse operation right now with Sumlin literally being ordered to make changes because oil millionaires know more about football than him.

I hope they find cause to fire his and Hyman's arrogant incompetent asses.

I could see Spav staying on as a position coach, but mainly to recruit.
He's such a good recruiter, I'd actually like to keep him if there isn't any position relying solely on him for development, especially qb's.
I really wish we'd hire Tony Franklin for OC.

The cause exists and is documented I'm told. Sumlin knows this, too. Those in possession are giving him one last chance to hire an elite OC since firing your coach at this level usually sets a program back a few years even if you make a great hire.
Make no mistake, Sumlin's name WILL be dragged through the mud if he doesn't succeed next season. There are vindictive people in our big donor base who resent his arrogance and on field failures.

It would be worth it just for the press conferences.

OBC won't say no to a 1 year no pressure 1.5mm contract

Is the golf around here good enough? He's probably under a 2 hours drive to about 2 dozen of the top 100 courses in Texas. Miramont is top 10 in the state right?
