As an aside, I thought it was well-known that both Sherman and Byrne were against the SEC move. I assumed everyone knew that and I'm pretty surprised that not everyone does. It was fairly obvious from their complete lack of public praise or really commentary on it at all and rumors abounded that both were openly hostile to the idea.

And when you consider the marketing and recruiting bonanza the SEC move has been, it really becomes clear that these two just weren't suited to our new reality.

Bill had to go solely due to his opposition to the SEC move. He was supposed to be leading the charge up a steep hill during a pivotal battle but instead was registering as a conscientious objector. We made a poor hire with his replacement though. Whereas Bill genuinely did care about A&M but disagreed with our fans and leaders about our choice of future conference home, Hyman is a sack of shite that is milking us on his way to retirement.

The big reason for Sherman's firing wasn't his opinion about the SEC, it was his refusal to follow orders. He was strongly advised to hire an offensive coordinator but refused. If I was your boss and we had your annual review and I told you that you had to do one specific thing differently, but you didn't do it, and then 6 months later your numbers had gone to shite specifically because you didn't do the one thing I had asked of you, I would have to fire you.

I don't get all the hate for Hyman, but I'm probably not up on things like some here.

If it's because he enforces AD policy for potheads, you potheads can go frick yourselves. If it's something else I'd love to hear it.

I have a really hard time caring about basketball, but did he actually say anything like that? Because, you know... that would be bad.

Has absolutely nothing to do with pot from my perspective. I don't smoke pot.

Hyman told coach Kennedy he was fired if he didn't make the postseason. We all understood that was the line in the sand. Then, when Kennedy DIDN'T make the post season, Hyman PAID to get us into a fake tournament so that he could call it post season play and get out of taking out the trash. That's a bullshite three-card monte move.

He also gave coach Childress an extension for NO REASON.

Aside from that he's invisible, except for when he wants to intervene in football matters and piss our head coach off, or when he wants to divulge the contents of a private conversation with a player to the media to embarrass him.

The guy's a wanker.

We should probably rehire the most successful coach in A&M history... well, no, Shelby is dead. Second most: BCG coupled with AA meetings might work.

Again, I don't care about basketball. But this year will be telling one way or the other, with much better competition. We'll see.

Making it to a regional is "NO REASON"? I understand we want to actually win the regional, but "NO REASON" is a bit harsh.

As far as I know this "intervention" is 100% about pot. And I'm all for it. Watching the Chik-Fil-A bowl, fellow old curmudgeon texted me in the first half, "I think our defense may really have a pot problem". And Aggies 30+ the world over were thinking exactly the same thing. Turns out after the season, WE WERE RIGHT, young dingbat.

To me the whole Sumlin/Hyman controversy is 100% the made-up bullshite originating from Texags posts gone apeshit. If I'm way wrong, what actual evidence do you have that Sumlin and Hyman don't get along? If Sumlin actually objects to suspensions over pot... I love the guy, but he's wrong. Not that there's any evidence anything like that has happened.

I've no idea what this is about.

Sorry, I went to bed last night before this shite heated up. Back to defend my honor. Yes, finest can kick my arse. He has done so before, on more than one occasion, and likely will do again.
But, he can neither throw a baseball nor hit one.
And I won't even start on his basketball prowess, because it hurts my soul to talk about the game that I love in such a manner.

That would hurt my feelings, if I had any.

Others here want to fire the AD like right-the-hell-now, and I'm the one who is angry. OK.
