After reading the press release, it sounds like after the first game it will be back to a qb battle. Who do y'all think will be the eventual permanent quarterback.

If we win vs USCe I think Hill has to completely fall apart to lose the job.

If Hill becomes the first Aggie QB to win a big early season game against a highly ranked opponent in over 20 years I doubt he loses the job.

Even if he plays well in a loss (the most likely scenario IMO) I think he will pretty much lock it down

I'm starting to think that Murray redshirts next season.

I've always thought that.

Yeah only way he doesn't is if someone transfers. As far as I know we are still probably getting another QB for 15 also.

think y'all are reading too much into this. Kenny Hill is the starting QB until or unless he falters.

The rest is just making people okay with the decision and giving a little motivation to Kenny not to slack

Kenny will have to step on his dick either pretty hard or repeatedly to lose the job. Sumlin strikes me as the type of coach that will stick with his QB. That having been said, I think that Allen probably has a higher ceiling, but if Sumlin thinks that Hill is more game-ready now, I trust his judgement. I could see a scenario where Hill under performs in the first 4 games, yet we still beat the cupcakes, then Allen takes over when we get to divisional play.
