We quite literally don't have any room. He would count against the 2020 recruiting class and we filled all 25 slots.

Well... after starting safety Leon O'Neal entered the transfer portal today (WTH????), we just might.

No idea. It can't be about playing time. Maybe he's pissed that Spence Lake will not include a lazy river.

He started all but the Arkansas (Carper), Alabama (Carper) and Ole Miss (Brian Williams) games.

He also had a problem with attitude and discipline (multiple personal foul penalties, apparently walked off the field in the middle of a game and just quit).

If Brian Williams or AJ Johnson ends up starting, it is almost addition by subtraction. His total stat line in 2019 was as follows:

41 tackles, 3.0 TFL, 1 INT, 3 PBU. Carper had 10 more tackles and played in 1 fewer game.

If Johnson or Williams has already passed him on the depth chart it is. O'Neal is a strong safety that played out of position at free safety. With Demani Richardson firmly entrenched in that position, he could easily have been passed up.

Maybe he has been passed up and wasn’t going to be a starter as we’ve got better players, but it’s never a good thing when depth transfers out.

Injuries and other weird things happen, and I think one of the biggest things that has kept us from from the top tier of the sec like Bama and LSU has been depth. We usually have good starters (outside of o line and maybe QB depending on what side of the fence you’re on) but late in game when guys need to rotate we didn’t have good second and third string like other teams do.
