I'm keeping all of my knowledge on A&M's football program to this board only, really. It's probably 99% bullshite, but I know that TexAgs is 100% bs. Just playing my chances

I don't even know how you can pick out who is serious or who is playing over there any more. That site is so cluttered that it can have 4-5 threads about the same topic, plus another +3 respond threads to those topics at any moment.

Trying to visit that site just makes me .

Yea I have no idea. Some people seem more earnest and consistent with their stories, but that's a pretty low bar for establishing credibility.

The other main "insider" besides rojo is a poster called tennis boy. His posts get a lot of blue stars but I think he's BSing even more than rojo.

His updates from the players will have 2 or 3 things that you could have guessed like "the players rallied around Jake before and after the loss, they think he played as well as he could in the situation" well duh, after the two qbs left people said he was well liked around the locker room so it's obvious he didn't have a terrible game so the players would still support him. But then tennisboy will double down with something like "all the players are pissed at sumlin as there's been no contact from him". Maybe that's true, maybe not, but I doubt he knows it for sure. Everybody over there just wants their 15 minutes of fame now that they see the attention rojo is getting.

Lots of talk this morning of impending firings of NFL head coaches. As I expected, no NFL writers have linked Sumlin to any of them. The only college coach they are talking about is Nick Saban.

So there has been no announcement of a staff shakeup or new OC hire at A&M. That could mean negotiations are still ongoing with potential replacement candidates. Similar to what Charlie Strong faced last month, the OC targets would be negotiating from a position of strength and might want a multi-year contract. I wonder if our administration will make that kind of commitment, if they really want to run Sumlin out.

Don't expect a coveted person to step forward on a one year deal. If they're looking to fire Sumlin, a hefty contract for an OC makes no sense. But don't afterwards blame Sumlin for not hiring your dream candidate if we aren't prepared to pay him what it would take.

I think most of are resigned to 1 more year of Sumlin and an epic fail of a 2016 season.

Two days ago Liucci said Sumlin should be fired if he was seeking NFL employment. Now it comes out that he is. Liucci is in a pickle.

Why does that put him in a pickle?

Because he now has to stand by something he clearly never expected to come to fruition or backpedal like a motherfricker.

My sentiments exactly. He always attempts to spin it to minimize the fallout when caught in a compromising situation.

Post this to another site and watch it get deleted and the user permabanned faster than a democrat running from personal accountability

Okay, here's a tweet from Michael Silver @MikeSilver of Sports Illustrated today:

"Two college coaches who, sources say, are trying hard to get to the NFL: UCLA's Jim Mora and Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin..."

Mora and Sumlin may want one, but is there a GM interested?

Trying hard to get to the NFL = knows he's a failure and wants to leave before he gets exposed even more than he already is

I would tell you to take the Billy Liucci bashing to that other thread about TA, but someone anchored that thread. So....

You know that fat frick won't stand by his claim. Hell, he'll probably suck more cock and ask more softball questions. When confronted about his statement, he'll say Sumlin was the one contacted and you can't blame a guy for just listening.

If he thought it was a far-fetched scenario, then yes, he's in a pickle. But I didn't read his remarks like that at all.

Obviously rooting hard for him to land one of these jobs but there's no way an NFL team is dumb enough to hire him, even Cleveland. He can't control 17 year old recruits, would be hilarious to see him try to get respect from an NFL locker room

His coaching style has always been more suited to the NFL, I actually think he could do pretty well. He has a similar skillset to Mike Tomlin and Jason Garrett.
